Crystal looked at the demanding brute. Her fur bristled and her mouth formed a snarl. She relaxed when she saw he chuckled. "I'm Crystal." She said in a sly, but honey like voice. She growled, having no interest in him, yet. She stood up and shook her light gray pelt. It glittered in the moonlight. She padded away with a flick of her tail and went invisible among the rocks. How could she completely disappear like that you may ask? There was a hidden cave there, right at the entrance, hidden by rocks that looked as if they were just sitting there.

Crystal padded out moments later after entering, reappearing like a leaf falling from a random tree. She leaped from rock to rock across the river elegantly, like a young fawn in the spring. She went into the shadows to gather items for a nest. She emerged from them, to her rocky home once again. She made a small cozy nest inside and settled down for a nights rest. She was hungry so before she settle down, she went outside. She found a bushel of raspberries and ate a few. The taste was tart, but sweet. She saw a dead squirrel that had been baking in the sun for at least 3 days. She growled at the crow food. She ate her fill of the berries and settled down to sleep in her den.

The sky began to cloud, and the air was humid. Thunder rolled in the distance promising a storm. Crystal looked up from her den thinking of the brute alone outside. At least it was cold. He would find himself shelter. she assured herself. She wasn't the only one abandoning the beautiful night though. Every shelter was now filled but the weak shelter of trees. "Better than nothing." she grunted aloud. She lay her head the thunder becoming louder. She couldn't help but think of the brute outside. She whimpered softly than rifted off to sleep.

The first drops of rain began to pound down outside. It would be a bad storm. Animals fled to there homes, but where would the brute shelter. He hadn't seen the she reenter her den, so he may go check out the place. Crystal was sound asleep. Lightning flashed outside and thunder rolled loud and hard. An outline of the brute was seen every flash. His fur was soaked to the pelt by now surly. Where would he cover for the storm. It was going to be a harsh night for sure and he needed better shelter than the trees. A family of rabbits scurried along a path in the forest. Even though they were among the trees they were soaked to the bone. They dived into the safety of the burrow. The mother rabbit settled her kits down and off they slept in the horrible storm.
