Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Iblis watched with growing curiosity as young Aoibhe stepped forward with her head held high to stand beside him and confront the stranger. She did not push him aside or snap like many wolves her age might have. And here Iblis thought she was simply a child but it turns out that she may be more than that already. A twinge of both sadness and pride filled him. Sadness that this child, no Aoibhe, looked to be so young but was already an adult and pride that she was so willing to be an adult. Though Iblis had only known her for a few short moments, he already knew he liked her. Aoibhe was someone he could trust who could hold her own and was not afraid to make hard choices. Of course, these were all early guesses. Only time would tell if Iblis was right about her character. As she spoke, he looked at Hickory to see how he would react. The male did not seem to have an aggressive bone in his body. Hickory simple gazed at Aoibhe with interest as she quickly explained how she had come to live here. Iblis still wasn't sure about his newfound companion, but if it came to a fight, he was sure he could take him out and run to safety. This was the way the warrior thought, prepare for an attack and never let your guard down. A lesson learned the hard way.

Hickory spoke next, mentioning the newly formed packs in the area, and Iblis' ears twitched. The packs. They were already strong with loyal members who looked up to their leaders with respect and love. Iblis had done that once upon a time. Bahamut had once been a fearless leader and a warrior like Iblis. The older male had earned Iblis' trust and respect, as did his brothers. Scotavia had been home and it was gone now. So Iblis wandered, searching for his place in the world. Though he had found Jaidah, the one who kept him bound, he did not feel that her pack was the right place for him. No, Iblis was not going to join any of the packs. He wanted to lead one of his very own. For now, he would wait and bide his time. A few moments passed by as Iblis became lost in his own thoughts and it wasn't until the hooting of the owl brought his attention back as he realized Hickory was waiting for an answer.

"I know that there are several packs within Moladion that you can join, though I do not know much about them. I am a traveler and have no desire to join a pack right now. But if you want my opinion, stay away from Iromar." Iblis said. Iromar was the place Jaidah called home and though he knew, she was perfect in every way her pack mates were not. Especially Fatality. Just thinking about her made Iblis' hackles rise and a small growl ooze from his teeth. Again, he had grown distant and forgot his companions. In the two years that Iblis had been alone, he lost almost all knowledge of how to act around other wolves. He was not a threat, but if one did not know him, they might think of him as such.
