 He loved her. Daddy really loved Mommy. That is why he left. Everyday Dad would just sit there at the edge of oblivion, waiting for her. He never understood that she was never coming back. I couldn't make him see that she was gone forever, as were Misu, Warning, and Danger. They were gone, lost, never to be seen or heard from again. I remember being so angry with him! I would always find him just sitting there, still as stone, waiting. Always waiting. Didn't he notice me? Couldn't he see how much I needed him, how much I wanted my mom and siblings? I was scared and he didn't care! I would growl at him, bark, even talk to him and he would always stare at me with those kind, gentle eyes and smile. But he wouldn't say a word, never did. And he would just wait. Always waiting. Then, one day, he was gone. Simply vanished into thin air. I knew he had left to find them. Daddy had finally left me to walk forever in oblivion. I was alone. Anger and sadness filled me and I cried for a long time. How could he do that! Wasn't I worth it? Why couldn't I keep him here!? Daddy, please don't leave me! I love you! I woke with a start as I cried in my sleep. Whines and yelps echoed in my den and my cheeks were wet from fresh tears. I gasped my amber eyes open wide as I tried to remember where I was. Safe, yes. Home, yes. Alone... yes. The sun was already starting to push its way into the darkness of my den and I yawned as I realized it must be close to midday. I was exhausted but I knew it would be best if I got up and helped with pack chores. Someone had to do it and it might as well be me. Crawling out of the den seemed to be harder than I was used to. Maybe I was starting to get bigger finally. I was almost an adult and soon I would need to find a new place to sleep. Perhaps in a cave or maybe even with the rest of the pack. Thinking that my dreams might wake them I decided it was best to sleep on my own. There was no point in keeping everyone awake with my pathetic whines. My mother had named me Whimper for a reason. It was a perfect name. Oh Mom. I miss you. Do you miss me too? Is Daddy with you? I hope Warning isn't causing too much trouble. Danger, Misu, keep Momma safe okay. A gust of wind blew past me and a sense of calm washed over me. I could never understand why I felt such a close bond with the wind, but she was my friend and I hers. I liked to call her Sister Wind for she was indeed very much like a sister to me. When I had been, all alone she was there to make me giggle as she brought flowers and bird feathers to me. My favorites were the raven feathers. They were so black, and pretty, and soft. Like me. Momma always told me how soft I was. I shook my head and growled under my breath, suddenly angry that I had allowed my mind to wander. I needed to focus and stay in the here and now. What was I doing? Chores, right, I remember. With a quick shake, I woke up fully and trotted away from my den towards the pack boarders. I wanted to make a good impression on my alpha, Moonglow. She seemed to know my daddy from a time before the bright light and if Dad was friends with her, so was I. I wanted to make her proud and show her that I could be the best wolf ever! Clayr - The Seer: Charged with the pack's health, and in teaching the Shiners and those who wish to pursue the art of healing. Kibeth - The Walker: The leader of the Guard. They are the foremost line of defense, charged with securing the borders and bringing pertinent information from within and without the pack to the appropriate wolf. They also lead the Outriders. Ranna - The Sleeper: Assists the queen in guarding from theft as well as advising her of news and gossip from the whole of Moladion. Charged with teaching the Mages about theft, secret keeping, and overall sneakiness. Allowed to make and block steals. Mosrael - The Waker: Caretaker and storyteller of the pack, also the head pupsitter. Often times this wolf will look after the pack's youth and educate them of Spirane and Moladion's history. Leads the Remembrancers in pup watching. Charter - The Power: The master hunter of the pack. Leads and organizes all hunts and teaches the Falconers the art of the hunt. The Classes Berserkers: Warriors and hunters of the pack. Falconers: The pack hunters Mages: Thieves and secret keepers of the pack. Allowed to make and block steals. Ambassadors: Diplomats of the pack. Shiners: Healers of the pack. Outriders: The pack scouts who bring all news of happenings across Moladion back. Remembrancers: Wolves of a kind nature who look after the younger wolves of the pack. These wolves may wish to learn more about healing, but this is not a requirement.
