Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

silent, she comes through the night - desiring a silver light

Sitting around idle was not something that Persephone could stand doing for very long. It was natural behavior for the youthful to be impatient and filled with wanderlust, but it was doubly so for Persephone. Hers was an errant and critical mind that couldn't deal with monotony. She could only examine the roots and dust in the den for so long before she needed something else to stimulate her brain, something else to examine and study. Being without conversation made it even worse. Though she was not naturally inclined to seek out the company of others, Persephone had found that, unlike her father, she could not ask a rock a question and expect to receive an answer in return.

She had left her mother sleeping early that morning, figuring she would still not be up for several hours and that Dude would likely be nearby if she should awaken. There was also the minor fact that, though she loved her mother dearly, Persephone was not known for being the most thoughtful and selfless soul. Jaye might have been bored being left behind in the den, but the lanky young lady had not expected her to wander off and so figured she would at least be safe.

It was only upon returning to the den many hours later to find it empty that Persephone realized that assumption had been incorrect. After pacing around the entrance to the den aggitatedly a couple of times, the pup sighed a breath of air and figured she should probably at least look for her mother. With any luck, she would be with her father.

Her long legs had been built for speed and relative grace, though the latter was slightly lacking in her awkward puppy stages, and she made easy distance taking off from the den entrance and making her way down the gradual incline further into the crater. She followed the familiar scent of her mother, taking her from bush to tree to bush again that Persephone could only assume her mother had walked right into. The dragonling did grimace, feeling the slightest hint of guilt that her mother would have been lonely to risk wandering off and stumbling right into... many things.

Her nose took her into one of the many bundlings of trees on that side of the crater, where the scent of Dude also became noticable and Persephone huffed a relieved breath that the two would be together. The fluffy form of her father laying on his back had just become visible from behind a couple scraggly trees when her mother popped into view, promptly tripping over Dude and landing on her face. Persephone stopped to hover over her mother.

"Mom..." she whined with another long sigh. "What have you been up to? You could have gotten lost, and then we may have never found you again."

She was frowning something terrible, though Jaye could not see it and, really, such a severe expression was not something abnormal upon Persephone's face. She turned the sour look to Dude, though she was presently closer to pouting than looking angry. "Da, I didn't realize you had wandered so far away from the den. This family has to learn to stay put sometimes."

She never claimed to not be a hypocrite.
