PMA Blanket IP: 188.8.131.52 Posted on February 11, 2013 at 12:33:29 by Mike Varone
Dear Sir, Not SPAMMing. I've been going through the steamer trunk that belonged to my late Mom. In it I found a Navy blue blanket with PMA logo stenciled in white in the center. It is in excellent condition. Been surrounded by moth balls and there are no holes.
To the best of my knowledge, no one in the family ever attended PMA.
My family is originally from Brooklyn. I retired to Virginia out of the Navy 31 years ago.
I remember this blanket being in the family for as long as I can remember. I'm 73. I don't know anything about how this blanket was acquired.
It was interesting to note the Acad. was founded in 1833 and closed in 1968.
I found Alumni Assoc. msg. bd. surfing for info about PMA.
It has been 45 years since PMA closed and I don't know how much memorabilia is around from it. I have this blanket that wouldn't mind sending to the Alum. Assoc. I fully understand and appreciate memorabilia as it applies to old orgs.

As I age, I'm at a crossroads with what I will do with the memorabilia I have collected during my 25 years in the Navy. If you wouldn't mind, please let me know what you think. Replies:
