Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

RAINBOW was on the hunt. She was crouched low to the ground as a gentle breeze drifted over her, causing her fluffy, blue gray fur to dance upon her back. Pretty, periwinkle eyes watched with intent as her prey aimlessly lapped at the nectar of life only a few feet away. Then, without warning, she lunged forward and pounced! With a childlike giggle, RAINBOW watched the beautiful, orange and black butterfly leap into the air with a gentle flutter of its wings and hover above her head, just out of reach. It was a game that RAINBOW had just made up and she was having so much fun! Catch the butterfly! The small patch of wildflowers had many players and the simple wolf couldn't resist making new friends with all these butterflies. She laughed again, a sound like a crystal bell, and jump to snap at the creature that merely dodge away and flew higher still. With her tail wagging behind her and wolfish grin on her face, RAINBOW watched her new friend fly away to find flowers without pesky wolves to bother it.

It seemed her rampage has startled the other butterflies as they began to drift away on the summer winds to better flowers and for a brief moment RAINBOW was sad to see them go. Were they tired of the game already? But it had been so much fun. A small whine escapes RAINBOW's throat as she watches the insects leave the flower patch and her mind begins to fly away with them. It would be grand to have wings like a butterfly! Oh the places she could go and the new people she could meet! Like the clouds. They would be so soft and fun to sleep on and the ones that took shape could even play games with her too. There was one now! RAINBOW gazed up at the clouds and saw one shaped like a little bunny. It had tall ears and a cute little fluffy tail. RAINBOW stared up at it for a long time until the wind broke up the cloud into different pieces. At the same time, there was a loud rumbling sound coming from deep within RAINBOW and she lowered her head to sniff her belly. It was time for food! With a happy bark, RAINBOW ran away from the flower patch and into the vast plains before her. "Time to eat," she called to no one.

It wasn't long before RAINBOW had gotten lost. The plains were vast and while she could easily smell other animals she didn't quite catch on that it was due to her prancing that they weren't making themselves known. Yes, yes, food would be good now. Her stomach gave another roar and RAINBOW giggled as it tickled her chest. "Soon, Tummy, we will eat soon." Just then, a movement caught her eye and RAINBOW watched two wolves come together not too far away. With an excited gasp, RAINBOW bolted off with a happy bark sounding her approach. Hunger momentarily forgotten, the smaller wolf trotted up to the strangers. The short run had made her pant but she was smiling at the same time which caused her to have a sort of goofy smile as her tongue stuck out to the side of her mouth. "Hello, I'm RAINBOW! I was playing with the butterflies and clouds, but my tummy was hungry so I came here. We can hunt together! Yes, yes, that would be fun!"
