Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

ren could feel their encounter drawing to a close, and for the first time in her life- though not the last, she felt herself wishing it did not have to be so. all that isola had said about demons in the dark had the fire and autumn girl nodding her skull, fully understanding that there were dangerous to be taken seriously in this land. especially in the dark. especially now that night was fast approaching. she had also told ren of how her family- her pack were the guardians. they kept these demons at bay, and for a second time, the word angel came to her mind. she still did not know this word, and did not know why it came. but it went along with the word demon, which was also a word she did not know and was quite unfamiliar with. perhaps if they ever met, crossed paths again, she could ask isola about the words and learn from her. and yet when the snowy marked female told her of this, there seemed to be shamed in her gaze- such so that she hung her skull after speaking of her family and their feeling of duty. tilting her skull to the right, ren wondered why she felt shame for such a courageous and selfless act such as that. for she herself had never done anything close to that.

taking a momentary risk, though with confidence- ren found herself pushing her paws against the earth to stand once more, and close the small distance between her and her hopefully new friend. in a gesture of kindness most unknown to her, for it was mostly instinct that drove her in that instant, she found herself nudging the top of her muzzle lightly against isolas jaw, before then withdrawing. though just after the act, she felt rather taken back, almost shy, and so for the first time cast her bright, golden gaze off to the side, her ears pinning back slightly against her slender skull. she did not want to offend this new wolf, and yet at the same moment she wanted to comfort and make sure isola knew all was well. these feelings and thoughts were all very new to ren; never in her life had she thought nor felt such before. for once, she was unsure of how to act and what to say. speaking quietly, but soft as ever as well as calm, she attempted her condolences. '
isola, forgive me for that. i hadn't meant to intrude on your space. i simply meant.. to comfort, i suppose. to make sure all was well' finally returning her gaze back on the angelic wolf before her, she tried another small, and this time shy, smile. she did not want any bad feeling between them.

perhaps if she had been anything than what she was, ren would have acted, and reacted differently. but she was naught but herself, and so she acted accordingly to that. but paying heed to what isola had told her before, she kept the snow white's girls gaze even with her own this time as she spoke. '
i thank you for letting me know of the dangers that lurk within the darkness. i would have not known, otherwise, and i might have suffered a tragic fate. for this, i thank you unconditionally.' and the last of isolas gestures has ren's mind reeling. she is momentarily taken aback by the offer of a home, of shelter- of family. it has hardly been any time since they met, and yet this stranger-no-longer wolf has offered her a home. the earth and fire toned female has never been a part of a family, save for the one she was born into. and even then, that one could not be considered a family, for all purposes and true meaning of the word. she takes awhile to think of words that could express her gratitude, that are even worthy of speaking to isola. and finally, she decides. 'i am.. so very honoured, isola, that you would extend such a thing to me. the day does grow late, and i understand the need return to your home. i am still new to these lands, and i have the urge to explore more. but i shall take you up on your offer, of this home, this Diveen- and i shall come and seek you out, soon. but first i must state this thirst to know these lands, to know better and be wiser for the next time we meet.'

the possessive that isola had used when speaking of 'my pack' is lost on ren for the moment, for her mind is far too overwhelmed with the offter. but of course upon her visit, she would soon find out. with a last dip of her skull toward the earth in both acknowledgement and farewell, she lets her soft, milk and honey voice slip forth once more, before turning to take her leave. '
we shall meet again, very soon, my dear isola. and when we do, it will be a reunion of a joyous occasion.' smiling now for the unknownth time, for ren had lost count, she gives a slight drag of her tail through the air, a wag of friendship- before turning gracefully toward the setting sun- West, and propelling herself forward. she does not know where she is going this time, but this time, she does care. it is shelter she seeks for the night, to rest well for the next day ahead of her, for she has much to do before finding her way to Diveen. before finding her way back to isola.
