Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

HOLLYWOOD WITH A TOUCH OF TWANG. TO BE A STAR YOU GOTTA! BANG, BANG, BANG!

Something had happened that day, but in all honesty, our boy with his very limited emotions were now very muddled and confused. Was this how father felt? He remembered that one day, finding his father with a much younger girl, whose looks nearly copied Abaddon’s own pattern, it was strange seeing them together, but then again, mom hadn’t been there at the time. Come to think of it, Mother was hardly ever there. He remembered her, vaguely, maybe three months of memories were present in his three-year old mind. Many may say it’s sad, but Abaddon had begun at a young age to not need his mother. Not need his father either. Although, between the two he missed his father more than his mother. He was not your typical boy. Hell, he wasn’t full grown yet, he had nothing to his name either. But then again, Abaddon was different than anyone.

He rarely saw his older sister, but she’d turned out stranger than him but he loved her just the same. She may collect animal bones and what not, but she was his blood, the only blood he had left in Moladion, and he wasn’t about to abandon her. No. The siblings may never really speak face to face, but he saw her. He wondered where she was for a brief moment, but the main thought in his mind pushed that clear to the side. Abaddon wondered with an empty mind who that girl had been. There’d been some sort of pull, to whom in the rabbit feast, he hadn’t known. Something had happened, and he had left as soon as it did. He couldn’t think straight there, not with her there.

But apparently, he couldn’t think straight anywhere else either. There was this deep set pull that kept dragging him through the crater, day after day, night after night. He searched. His inky black frame, the mottled gold sweeping down his chest and stomach, the white that touched his nose and chin, he blended in well with the darkness that had just risen. And so he was standing, atop a large boulder that had protruded from the wall, he watched. Dark blue eyes staring forward. As if he was willing her to appear and for some kind of sign as to who she was. He had no idea, but he figured he wouldn’t be sleeping well until he found her. He hadn’t yet so far.

Would she accept him? His silent ways and brooding moments that seemed to take over his being until someone forced him to snap out of it? Maybe being around her would change him.. In his mind he doubted that but then again, there wasn’t much that he knew about this imprinting, other than he would never want toi leave her once he found her, and apparently that much was already apparent and he didn’t know what to rightly do about it. He needed to find her to figure it out before he went crazy. Not that he wasn’t crazy in his own way, but he didn’t need to go crazier.

With dawn creeping across the sky, he waited. Hoping she’d wander through today. Praying she would.
