At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

The sun got brighter as the heat level rose. Makes sense though, considering that the sun provides heat to earth. The soft tide of the lake reached up from the deep depths that possessed its wonderful flavor. Fish found their homes in this wonderful water (not that they had any choice). Birds chirped their way into oblivion, singing as they disappeared over the treetops. Glinting down onto the lake, invisible sparkles rose from the water, spreading throughout the world. Wolves lay a few lengths away from the water, chatting as their pups played in the water. They tried to catch fish with their naive personalities, unconsciously waiting for their fathers to come down and show what fishing was all about. Shuko layed under a tree, watching glee and smiling as they strived for this feeling.

He smiled and closed his eyes, feeling the hot rays of the sun soaking into his pelt. The russet color of his fur was a piece of rock in a snow bank. Shuko suddenly opened his eyes as a very small, but loud, voice penetrated his ears. He opened his green pools, and they set upon a wolf pup that was very fluffy, black as the night and had a stripe down his chest. “What are you doing here all alone?” Shuko immediately smiled, seeing the curiosity in his eyes. “Me? Well, I am simply enjoying the sunshine, and waiting for company. However, it seems both have arrived.” He smiled again. Something occurred to him just then; where was this young brute’s mother? He raised his head, searching around the sand for a wolf that looked similar to this pup.

His green orbs landed on a wolf trotting over to them in a hurry. Shuko assumed that this was the boy’s mother, however she did not look like this pup at all. Except for their brown eyes, they were completely different. “I apologize for his behavior, if he disturbed you.” She had a kind voice, but when she said “Rex.” , Shuko knew that when she meant business, that was what she was planning to get. Good mother. he thought to himself. “He is no trouble.” he said. He saw her smile, and watched her about to turn on her heels, when he muttered, “Why don’t you stay here? The sun is hot, and your son can play down by the shore. I am sure that he will provide excellent company for us.” .

Now, dear readers, Shuko was not in any case looking for anything near romance. He was a flirt, but he was not always on the clock. He liked having simple company once in awhile. He smiled, and decided to start a conversation. “I am Shuko. I can tell that your son’s name is Rex, but what might your be?” He slacked on his back, leaning up against the tree at his back. Russet fur was woven into the grass. Silence engulfed them for a moment as Shuko watched Rex play and the sun soaked deeper into his fur.
