Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

I was wandering this day. I was not looking for anything in particular, not really...well, maybe. I want to keep an eye on my Daemon, I want to learn from him, and if he happens to die during one of his attacks I would gladly take his eyes. I mean, he enjoyed them so much, and he wasn't going to use them dead. I, however, had plenty of use for eyes, and they are fragile things, needing to be harvested and observed as quickly as possible. But right now I wasn't after eyes, or anything. I was more mindless today.

Even though I am mindless, aimless in that there is no reason to be out in particular, I am always on the prowl. I always want to keep watch for tempting things, there is so much in the world to look at, to become. I do not hold back my curiosity, I never have and I am not sure if I ever will. I walk on my long black limbs, through the foliage of greens, stomping on the dirt that is death all around. I am getting thirsty today, the summer has gone so I am no longer hot, but the sun still shines on the golden saddle on my back, shimmering brightly as i head towards water. Water. It is strange stuff, something the body is obviously addicted to. I wonder why this is, why we must drink water. It is a clear liquid, cool and refreshing. It is like we need the water so we can keep our mouth wet, so we can salivate and eat our prey. I have noticed living things have red blood, a liquid like water yet it is so different. I wonder if our bodies taint the water when we drink it, we taint it and turn it red. I do not know, but I am imagine, I am speculate, I am a curious girl, I let my mind go.

As I come closer to the water, I know I get close because of my good ear, I make a sudden pause in behind a bush. There is someone else here, and I am always a sort of...stalker. I like to observe others, I like to look at their bodies, the colors of their fur, their builds, the subtle shapes of their faces. I am silent in my pause as my golden eyes fall on Chance, and oh so I already adore this boy. My ears are perked with great interest, my eyes stare at him from betwixt leaves and twigs. I watch him dip his paw in the water, I watch as he rolls onto his back. He gives me such a good show, such a good view of his dual colored body. I like white on his body, I like it a lot. I want to get a closer look, yes I do. He turns back onto his belly, and that is when I come. I hold myself neutrally, if anything I am a tiny bit crouched, gracefully putting my paws between rocks and such as I come directly towards him. I am very forward, I am told, If I didn't hold myself so neutrally and didn't have that glimmer of curiosity in my eyes, one might think I was aggressive. But I am not, I am no killer wolves, not yet. I need Daemon for that.

My white face does not smile as I stop a few feet away, one black paw hovering above the ground as I tilt my head. They say I move my head in bird-like ways, I imitate birds to some extent but I don't really think about it. It is natural at this point, due to my obsession with birds and wishing to have a raven's beak as my own mouth. I like my birds dead and yet I mimic them in life. I blink as I stare, a good minute before I said anything to the boy.

"Your fur. I like it. I want to see it more, yes I do. Will you let me look?" I ask, knowing that one does not get to waltz up to someone and inspect their fur. I wish life was that easy but no one ever liked it when I did so. Either way, I already lowered my black paw to step closer. Okay so, I was not the best at staying put and waiting for an answer. I asked, but I am not patient by any means. I am already getting pretty close, and I wonder when he will flinch. They always do.
