The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Little Kobato stared weakly at the big brute. His words wouldn't have bothered her if they had been degrading HER. But her friends... Why they were the most precious of treasures in her eyes. A small hint of seriousness tingled around in her throat despite the fact that her words were laced with velvet. "That's the thing. I 'give a shit' about you, and my family 'gives a shit' about me. It's a hoop." Yes it was a dangerous game she was playing... One group or the other, and she was fluttering between the two like a indecisive butterfly.

She winced at his voice and then smiled hesitantly, one of those smiles that only comes when one is completely embarrassed about their behavior or past actions. "I didn't think of it. It did not bother me that I did not know your name." She laughed heartily and then opened her toffee orbitals back up to take his being in. "Vlad..ya?" She smiled a bit bigger and then lowered her nape so that when she tilted her head, she was facing his gullet even thigh her eyes stayed glued to his own the whole while. She was far enough away to not even be considered a threat but one never wants to get too close to a chandelier that's threatening to fall. "Why are you here, Vladya? You don't seem very happy about it." She motioned with her head in the direction of which she had just come not minutes beforehand... The free lands. "Why not leave?" They had nearly killed him. It was true. Even innocent little Kobato knew that Abendrot soldiers were not to be meddled with. And yet, in all her hypocrisy, the little dove was here, right next to their borders, tiptoeing in the tulips that stunk of their Kings marking, stopping by to sniff one of the regals most "tended" flora. And she'd already been inside the garden even. If the landlord had found her then, she would have been six feet underground nurturing those plants as they struggled to keep from getting frost bitten in the winter time. But this flower was not much different than the black Chinese bellflower that ran Munashii under his dark will.

Alas, this flower was different in the way that he did not let others revel in his glory. Surely goodness lay underneath, for only the dead held no sense of regret or guilt or sympathy within them. A night blooming cereus indeed. A flower similar to Kobato herself.... But he was different in the sense that he did not wish to bloom. Perhaps too many moths had visited his petals whilst he had wished for just moonlight to waste him away. But why did this little one know? She is just a youngling surrounded by demons. Flowers will wilt if it they are not granted access to the rays of the sun... They will slowly waste away until they are but a memory of what could have been.

Paradise is easy to travel to. It's the path leading to it that plays hide and seek. But once you find that path... all you must do is follow the perfume of Lunar flowers.
