At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Listen to the Silence

Shuko was still layed back as he listened for the fea to make her decision of letting her pup and her relax in the shade. When she finally agreed, he smiled. The russet fur of his glinted in the sun that was shining through the trees; it felt warm in his pelt and he enjoyed every bit of it. Lady Violet. He ran the name over his tongue, tasting the way it left a mothers bite to it. He liked the way it did that. Shuko was just plain and simple, nothing really had a connection to it and it really didn’t mean anything. However, sometimes simple and plain was just what one needed after a day of hardship and the idea of more to come.

The air tasted fresh around this part of the lake, and the slim however muscular bodice of Shuko was laid back and relaxed. Very soon after Lady Violet sat down, a new scent came to his nares. It was a brute, and he had not tasted the scent of this brute before, however it somehow seemed to be important. Shuko’s ears twitched for a moment, but then they quieted after the scent disappeared for a moment. “ It is a pleasure to meet you too, Lady Violet and your Rex.” He repositioned himself so he was laying on his stomach with his paws under his chest; he had thought that it had been a more polite way to sit in front of a lady.

A seagull flew over the sky as the two sat in silence. Shuko had been watching the little Rex follow his nose as he traveled across the small patches of land. He had smiled when he twisted and turned and pounced on a small blade of grass. He looked at the grass around their feet, somehow just seeing the blades of nature now. They were a very light green, the color when a giant pile of leaves has been sitting on them for weeks and it has rained through and fed the grass with a buffet of water. He slid out his claws and dug into the dirt, feeling the way the cold source felt wonderful slipping into between his talons.

What came next was something that Shuko did not expect. A wolf had jump from who knows where and pounced on the little pup. He instantly paired the scent he had smelled minutes ago with the wolf now towering over a small pup. Lady Violet and Shuko stood at the same time, the fae at her feet maybe a couple of second before the brute. He didn’t mind at all that she was faster than him, considering that she was probably prepared for having to defend her cub. “What are you doing?” was the only thing that came out of Lady Violet’s mouth. Shuko took this action of the mystery wolf more seriously, and bared his teeth. He shook his russet pelt and walked and stood in front of Rex, who had now started to inch away toward the safety of the water.

“What in the name of everything good do YOU think you are doing?” Shuko demanded. This was not gentlemanly of the brute at all, and Shuko out his big head about tail length away from the brute’s maw, but he was close enough to smell his breath. “I shall ask you to take a couple steps back before you answer this little pup’s mother’s and my questions about why in the name of Kaive do you think you can trod on land that is supposed to be held for peace and almost frighten the little boy to death.” Shuko almost pushed him back with his demand.
