Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Jaye had heard the others speaking about an island hidden somewhere within the pack lands. Well, it wasn't hidden as surely the island would be somewhere off the shoreline. But to Jaye, everything in this land was hidden but that made finding even more fun. Today, Jaye found herself walking towards the beach as the warm, early fall sun beat down upon the earth. Black fur was never good during the summer and as Jaye's favorite season was quickly approaching, she felt the need to cool off lessen with each passing day. However it seemed like summer wasn't going to go down without a fight and today the heat rose higher and higher until Jaye felt the need to rest her paws in the shallows of the river. This had been her destination before the sounds of crashing waves drew her towards the beach. The older wolfess had been too frightened to approach the deep, vast waters on her own as she knew next to nothing about the sea. Today, today was different. There was another standing by the waters someone who, like her, was afraid to go forward for fear of the sea. Jaye could smell him over the harsh bite of the salt and sense his hesitation. For some reason, this made Jaye smile and gave her the courage to step upon the sandy shore for the first time since coming to Glorall.

The sand was almost alien to her as it moved under her paws. With careful steps, Jaye moved towards the boy standing somewhere in front of her. Though her eyes were dead, her nose could smell him and her ears could hear him moving as the waters lapped at the sand. "Hello!" Jaye called as she neared the water's edge. Hopefully her call would grab the wolf's attention and bring him towards her. Jaye cried out suddenly as the cold salt water wrapped around her paws. The black wolf took a step back as the water crept closer and closer to her as the day continued on. The older wolf let out a small whimper as she began to wonder if coming here really had been a good idea. Out of habit, Jaye looked at her paws to see if the water would be coming but was rewarded with nothing but the everlasting darkness that filled her vision. Clouded eyes looked back up to where the boy should still be standing and she let out a little bark. "Excuse me, I know this may sound odd but can you tell me if the water is rising or not? Also, do you see an island around here?" Jaye asked with a worried smile.

love gives you pleasure and love gives you pain
and yet when both are gone, love will still remain
