Disaster has struck!
I smell her perfume first and my heart goes crazy, stuttering in its chest. My breath comes short as I see her approaching figure, my claws digging into the soil to keep me from racing to embrace her. My tail weags in sync with hers, my heart beat matching her own stride for stride as my golden eyes drink her in like a drowning sailor. The moment her head nuzzles into my chest, my breath catches in ecstacy and I bow my own head, nuzzling the top of her forehead with affection and more love than I could ever feel before. She licks under my chin, setting my skin on fire before her eyes turn over her shoulder, as if looking for something or someone. My children?
I stiffen with nerves and excitement, barely able to take my eyes off of her perfect figure to see another coming up behind her. Anemone! Her beauty astounds me, my eyes mesmerized by her own two toned stare. She's one of a kind, an original. I look to Laila, approval and awe in my glance as I smile and reach out to her, unable to tame myself. I nuzzle Laila's chin, breathing in her intoxicating scent, my voice a tantalizing whisper of lovers. She's beautiful, my love. I reluctantly pull back to stare at my daughter some more, hesitant now to approach her for fear that I'll scare her. This is my first time meeting her and she's already two years old, nearly an adult. Again, a pang of guilt racks my body, feeling like a failure in her eyes now.
Trying to shake it off, I offer her a gentle smile. Hello, Anemone. I'm Camelot. I know this must be awkward, meeting me after all this time. I wish I could have seen you grow up. I'm so sorry for not being there for you but I promise that I will from now on. I'm always here if you want to know me. I know I want to know you. My eyes glitter with happiness, overwhelmed. Glancing over her shoulder, my brow rises in question as my gaze flickers to Laila. Is Conner coming too?
