OOC- sounds good to me- this can be the prequel to Henadin deciding to follow Terrel to Abendrot.

Henadin’s twin towers turned down as the fae he had began to care for began to speak, though this time not from fear of her voice, but for fear of what words her voice may utter. He had never been one to deal with conflict with other lupines, because he rarely dealt with lupines, let alone stick around long enough to converse with them or even have conflict with them. Henadin found himself dreading what her response would be to the question he had presented to her… and at the same time was a bit ashamed of the way he had said it to her, putting her on the spot. Would it just be easier if he just walked away? Yes, it would be easier, and that was what Henadin always did. But the brute found that each of his four paws seemed to be melded with concrete to the ground… he would not be able to flee from this situation even if he tried to.

The fae started with his name… it somehow sounded different when she spoke it than when his sister did. Channing reported that she had grown fond of the brute whilst they had been talking. An unexpected smile found its way upon his kissers, but then the fae continued and the stoic mask that he was so used to wearing took over as the brute braced himself for the fae’s answer. Channing continued her monologue, reporting that she had baggage and that his response to it could change their relationship. Although his mask remained upon his face, Henadin could feel strings pulling on his heart as she mentioned the word ‘relationship’… the brute was elated that the fae had feelings for him but dreaded what the baggage would be. His imagination was running wild: she had a mate already, she had plans to leave, she did not actually want anything to come of this.

A fond smile came to lay upon the fae’s maw, but it was short lived, and she mentioned that she had Terrel. Henadin broke eye contact… so she already had a mate. He turned to walk away, but froze as she continued. Terrel was her son, not her mate. Henadin slowly turned back to the fae, relief flooding into his body. The only other moment that the brute could remember being so happy or feeling such relief was when he had found his long-lost sister. But this was different. His heart yearned for the fae before him, and he could think of nothing to say, reverting back to the silence that knew him best. So the brute moved forward suddenly and nuzzled against the fae for a quick moment, a silly large, genuine smile flayed across his mouth. The touch was electric, and sent a chill through his entire body, and he felt alive. Henadin broke off the contact, not wanting to scare the fae off. His mind raced, thinking of something to say. “Is that it?” Henadin finally said. “I have a sister. Family is family.
