Their impact is marked by a harsh grunt as Rade strained against the woman, but he gains no ground against the opposing force of her retaliatory shove. Conceding to the impasse with ill grace, the palomino stallion glares up through the fringe of his creamy bangs, concealing disbelief beneath displeasure as the harpy subjects him to the lash of her tongue. So she thought to tell him what to do - she, an unwelcome and ill-mannered invader in his lands? Snorting a derisive retort to her scolding, Rade is anything but chastened, and only the presence of the filly enables him to keep his temper in check. Chuckling a throaty response to the girl's indignant words, Rade shrugs his shoulders, taking advantage of the gesture to exert a subtle force against the stranger. The pressure is small, but the message that lies beneath it clear: the golden man is in charge here, and he is not about to be cowed by a mouthy woman.

“She's all yours, then, if it pleases you. I'd sooner not waste my breath on the likes of her..” He speaks as he takes a single step backwards, the cold amber of his eyes yielding briefly to a peculiar warmth as his gaze flicks in Jaws's direction. “Her tongue is sharper than her mind - and her teeth, for that matter.”

His expression hardening again, Rade turns back to the woman, choosing his next words carefully. There is a strain beneath his honey coat as he speaks, a tightening of muscles; though he has chosen not to come to blows, the palomino is prepared for the possibility that the derision and scorn with which he addresses the mare may well provoke her.

“You are not in charge here, woman, and would do well to hold that tongue of yours - unless you'd prefer that I remove it forcefully. Whether or not you are a 'potential addition', as you claim, is for me to judge. And as far as I'm concerned, you could wash out with the next tide and I wouldn't give a shit. So far, you have proven yourself unworthy of my time.”
