Mae followed shortly behind the multi-hued brute, stifling a laugh at the fact that he’d walked straight into the cavern wall. Terrel seemed to speed up through the narrow tunnel and as they went on the femme was finally able to see why. Ahead there was light filtering through with more strength than the beams coming in from above. Her eyes narrowed as she grew confused, unsure what the source of the light could be. As it grew stronger, the walls surrounding them becoming steadily more visible as black went to dark grey and finally brightened to an even, rocky grey. She slowed a little, letting her friend go ahead faster than her, unsure of whether she’d rather chance going back into the darkness or finding out the source of the light. It was a good thing she’d put a bit of space between them as only a couple of seconds later his form vanished suddenly.

His voice yelled out as he disappeared, causing the slender femme to halt immediately. Her ears fell back and she tilted her head, feeling alone in the tunnel. Creeping forward, she made it to the edge of the rock and peered over, golden brown eyes wide as she looked down with a little fear. A breath of relief turned into a burst of laughter as she saw Terrel unharmed and sprawled out on grass within jumping distance. “Enjoy your trip?” she teased, jumping down nimbly and landing in front of him with grace further shown off by the fact that he was still crushed against the ground. Her eyes shone in amusement as she waited for him to get up, expression happy over the possible taunting some wolves may have done; rather than laughing at him, she was chuckling alongside his embarrassment. She’d looked ridiculous around him more times than she could count, and yet they’d only known each other for a short amount of time.

“Having some trouble?” she grinned as he swayed, obviously dizzy from the fall. She sat as he tried to regain his balance, turning her head to give her coat a once over. She groaned at the various matting and caked pieces of mud dotting the usually perfectly kept fur. Bending her muzzle with a twisted back, she leaned so that she could lick and nip at the pelt covering the right side of her body. She worked a little bit at the knots, trying to part them so that her fur would settle properly, and mentally cursed the rain. As well as making her highly nervous it made a mess of everything. As if only just remembering it, she lifted her head and glanced up to the sky. It wasn’t clear by any means of the imagination, but there wasn’t any water falling from the sky anymore. Terrel’s question brought her gaze back to him.

“Well, seeing as it’s not raining anymore how about we find somewhere else?” she looked back at the towering rocks they’d come from, “I don’t feel like going in there again so soon.” She stood and shook off, a few stray droplets still clutching to her fur loosening and flying off. Turning away, she leapt in bounds across the damp grass, the cold droplets against sensitive paw pads making her jumpy across the forest floor. “Coming?” she asked, looking over her shoulder, before leaping off through the trees.
