It was strange, to finally have found some semblance of peace. Reunited with my mother, and belonging to a pack once more, for the first time in a long time I felt like I could breathe freely again. And even as I grew settled with my place in the high court of Diveen, restlessness pulled me across the borders and towards the western most region of the great crater. It was there that I found disheveled, rocky surfaces that gave way to bodies of waters that ran together and toppled over the rocks. Waterfalls scattered throughout the province, some magnificently large and some marvelously small.
Beads of water splashed against my underside as I jogged through the shallow waters of a creek, enjoying the cool shock of each droplet. Dark audits pushed forward as I moved forward, head carried low in a relaxed position. Even as I enjoyed the solace of my exploration of these lands, I caught the carried voices of a gathering on the breeze. I did not pause; in fact I thought to avoid the congregation all together and adjusted my course thusly. But as I passed a gap in the foliage and glanced in their direction, I stopped midstep and watched for a moment. Two wolves splashed about in the shallows below a waterfall, while three others were perched above them in observance.
A single aud flicked to the side as I heard the steps of another wolf approaching. The ashen wolfess was moving in the opposite direction of me, but it seemed obvious that she too had thought it better to avoid the amassing of wolves at the centre point of the falls as well. Respectfully I dipped my head in a silent greeting to her, not wishing to reveal her presence to the other wolves if she did not desire it to be so. A single sniff from this short distance told me she, too, was of Diveen. Perhaps we would cross paths again some other time. I then glanced back to the wolves that surrounded the cascade of water, now torn on whether to approach or continue on my way.
