At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

OOC- Kal just got voted in as Alpha at Aurora Borealis! Wahooooo I am so excited :D :D :D

The grey brute smiled at Leila’s first set of words, and opened his maw to respond, his pearly canines just barely showing as he spoke. “Of course we yearn for your talent and beauty, hence why us brutes chase after all you femmes relentlessly. We crave the chance to covet you for your beauty, and wish for the chance to have you as able companions.” Kalgalath would have blushed then, were he not a wolf. “By companion, of course, I do not just mean as a mate. Although that is true – a strong femme makes for a wonderful life partner and will no doubt make strong pups to carry on the bloodline.. However, what I was trying to aim toward was more friendship. You crafty femmes are always good to have around, no matter the situation. You can talk your way out of any situation, and seem to be quite wily and able to steal hearts.” The brute fell silent, but smiled once more as the fae laughed at his previous words. Yes sweetie, I just adore seeing you in misery and humiliation.” Kalgalath’s eyes flickered at her choice of words as the fae drew closer, but shook it out of his mind, reminding himself that she was just flirty by nature. For then, she was back to her old tricks, insulting his masculinity. “Gally-Pally-Kally!?” The wolf repeated incredulously, his icy orbs slitting themselves. His frame shot up so that he was now sitting upon his haunches, his own twin towers pinned against his cranium as the fae guffawed at him. “How cruel you are…” Kalgalath’s gaze softened as the fae corrected herself and quieted.

The brute smiled as Leila blinked furiously and shook her cranium – clearly she was as unused to receiving compliments as Kal himself was. The brute tilted his head, puzzled. She was quick to poke fun, true, but she was pleasant to be around, and a beauty at that. A great friend… the full package. Why, then, was she so unused to receiving compliments?

Kal had averted his gaze as he told Leila of a few of his fears – it was indeed very personal. He was unused to being able to open up to other lupines and as was mentioned, he felt very vulnerable once the facts were spoken. But then Leila spoke. For one, Kally – you will never be alone, you’re a decent brute and who isn’t bad lookin’. And if not, which is very unlikely, I will still have your back because baby – as my friend you’re stuck with me. The brute’s gaze returned to the femme and locked onto her own orbs, his kissers remaining the same but the corners of his eyes turning up in a smile of their own. Indeed, her words were calming, although he didn’t fully believe them. She then continued her monologue, telling a few of her own fears.

I do understand your fear of childbirth from stories I heard from my mother. I witnessed a few in my old pack before I left, but I do not view them as you do – it is the ultimate triumph. You create life and do what no male could do, showing what true strength and courage is. Childbirth is indeed a fearful thing, but also a beautiful thing itself. As for death, I believe deep down all fear death… and fear sickness. They take away your strength and ability. Why do you fear small spaces? And finally, no one could either hate you, fair Leila. That is an impossibility. ” Kal fell silent once more, his maw shutting and keeping more words from spilling out.
