live with no excuses, love with no regrets
For a silent minute air ceases to escape her lungs - would Pan even want to be her friend? Was he only nice to her because of Weylin? It is perhaps what keeps her from settling down to much here – this idea that the wolves of Glorall only accept her because of their King. She isn’t sure what she has to offer these wolves, if there is anything she can offer that they would even want, but she’ll try.
Innocent eyes peer at Pan waiting, watching, for some kind of sign to let her know she hasn’t just humiliated herself. Yet his widened obsidian eyes give her nothing but the obvious – that he is surprised at her request– and she wants to walk away with her head down at the fact he is so appalled that she would even dare ask him such a thing. It is only pride that keeps her from fleeing the scene in his startled silence – she wouldn’t run from anything, even a boy not wanting to be her friend.
Just when she has completely given up he moves. His eyes don’t meet hers, instead they land on his monument but Selene is convinced the smile is a good thing. Hope fills her eyes once more and her tail dances slowly behind her back waiting for him to say something. Of course when he does begin to speak she stares at him her face blank with eyes that grow larger with every word his lips utter.
Neither a genius nor an imbecile Selene stands rooted to the spot by his words. Expecting a simple yes or no the golden boys wordy response drew her up short as her mind contemplated his answer – and after a short delay she does. Meeting his eyes excitedly – her golden tail wagging freely behind her back again- Selene takes in his simpler explanation with gold etched ears tipped forward and a wondrous smile upon her uniquely radiant features. A nod of acquisition at his approval of her request belies her excitement at the prospect of a new friend but she says nothing else.
Moving to the bridge – awaiting Pans answer in regards to her weight – Selene studies his creation in awe. She may not have minded wading through the water or attempting to leap over the thinner parts of the river but to think of something else was amazing. Truly that Pan had thought to build such a thing was mind blowing to her. The idea would have never even have crossed her mind and yet he had both conceived and birthed the idea into reality – no easy feat she was sure.
Once again Pan succeeds in making her innocent turquoise eyes widen like saucers on her blonde and black face. A compliment directed towards her was rare. So rare in fact that she is fully convinced this is the first time she has ever had one. Before now she’d never really even considered herself in a physical way. Her limbs and torso were toned and her pelt full and luxurious – sure on occasion she’d glared at her reflected obsidian marked face in water or puddles and seen the marking as undesirable and in honesty ugly – but besides noting her body was a capable one exterior beauty had never occurred to her. Hearing Pan give such a simple, flattering, rendition of her physique stunned the girl to silence and succeed in bringing a rush of blood to her face.
Luckily his no nonsense compliment needed no reply, followed by a simple command even she could comply with. And so long toned blonde limbs step with care towards his bridge before stopping again as she catches sight of the black wolf. Sitting beside Pan – happy when he gives her a reassuring smile before introducing her to Jaye – Selene takes comfort in the fact that she has at least one friend in this lonely place. At the mention of Bahamut – her mates very father – Selene mouth forms an ‘o’ as who the wolf in front of her actually is clicks and hastily bows her head to the grandmother of her imprint.
Almost giggling when the stately wolf bows even deeper in recognition of her, Selene thinks about how it seems so strange and foreign for one she regards as higher than herself – based on pure life experience – to feel the need to honor her with the frivolities custom dictates. “Please do bow to me Lady Jaye, you are the grandmother of my imprint and therefore like my own grandmother, I think so anyways, and I do not want you to bow to me. It is you who deserve my respect for besting the fates as long as you have.” Her voice fills the air with a matter-of-fact tone even as she smiles sunnily – even though she has now realized the wolf to be blind.
The smile she wears falters in the slightest as Jaye bring up Weylin but she hurries to broaden it before anyone else can notice. Her heart beat for him, her soul cried for him, but still he stayed in seclusion – not that she would dare mention her sadness at this to anyone. “He treats me very nicely my lady.” Happy to turn to other topics Selene smiles, half – heartedly, at what she assumes is Pan making a joke as her golden hued bodice trails Jaye to the bridge all the while wondering if there is something wrong with her that Weylin hadn’t tried to seek out more time with her.
Jaye’s announcement that she would cross and her request for someone to accompany her shakes the blonde and black girl from her silence - striding forward to brush her side against the blind wolf comfortingly Selene tries to assuage her worries. “I could accompany you, if Pan thinks he could hold two….” She pauses to send a questioning look to Pan before resuming her words. “The other side holds lands just as this one does.” Even as she murmurs this to Jaye another voice breaks in stopping her. Twisting her skull to see another dark furred wolf Selene blinks at her before responding. “Yea I’m Selene. Sorry I don’t know who you are, besides Lady’s Jayes daughter, obviously.”
OOC I am sooo sorry about the wait especially since I had this done well over a week before my lappy charger took a shit >.< I swear I’m losing it lol
