Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Honestly, could they not control themselves? Were they so damn daft? Ajax was dead, Vidar torn to pieces and the others dead, too and yet they had the audacity to try and create more children? It was... disappointing to admit that his mother's mind had become much more frazzled then he had initially thought and with Caligula's temporary disappearance, he was not so sure about how to cope. At least Vidar had been taken by Azrael and Vague had retreated to Diveen, too. It made things easier. It made the spring coming so much... simpler. It was the perfect rouse; Vidar spilled his guts about Iromar and Azrael would come to take Ruvindra from her throne. Who would suspect him? Despite his irritation at the fact that he would have potentially more siblings to cull... well, at least things were coming together. There was the question of that... familiar scent he had found on Vague before he had disappeared to Diveen but that could be inspected later. He just needed to get out of Iromar.

The Eastern crater had been one of his least explored haunts - he'd stopped by briefly a few times but often found himself passing through with relative haste. This time, he'd settle there. His mother, Vague or even Celesdue would not seek him out there; he'd finally get some moments to himself to do some well earned thinking. First thing was first, however, and he stalked through the underbrush, his body pressed low the ground as he slunk after the mink. It wiggled before him, shuffling over the bramble in search of its own prey - each paw was deliberately placed, his large form moving with effortless grace as he slowly edged forward. Just as silently, he dove forward, his jaws clenching down on the creature's slender body before the crack of its spine rung in the air; with a pitiful squeak, it fell limp between his teeth. With a brief check of his surroundings, he was off once more, long strides bringing him out of the thickets and into the open space that was the lakeside. Winter had covered it in a thick blanket of snow and as he trudged through, he would have been almost invisible had it not been for the thick trail of black and red hairs that lined his spine. That day, it was a warning - do not trifle with him. Usually a relatively pleasant creature (or so he would have others believe), he did not feel so... receptive as he found himself a suitable location.

With a single leap, he landed atop a half buried stone that crept out of the white blanket by two or so feet. It was broad and flat, the perfect look out point - he lowered to his belly facing out over the lake, his prize placed between his paws before he begun to rip into it; it was difficult to concentrate on the task of meticulous eating (skin first then take piece by piece) when his mind bristled in agitation. His mother was a fool; Vague was a fool and as was his son. Hell, even Celesdue's doting over Phobia was beginning to set him on edge. The only thing that came as any comfort in that moment was the warm meal he chewed on absently - anything to get rid of his thoughts.
