Disaster has struck!
The moment the spider is gone, she seems to relax visibly like a light switch being turned on. She comes to me slowly but surely, sinking into my fur. She's still shaking but it stops after a few seconds. Her sobs quiet and she thanks me. I shake my head. I will do anything to keep you safe, mi amore. Smiling, I nuzzle the top of her head protectively. Would you like to go outside now? I have something to ask you. Smiling, I gesture my nose toward the entrance of the cave and turn to go outside, hoping she'll follow. Once outside, I look around, collecting my thoughts before I turn back to her, my tail wagging with hope. I have a home with the Spirane pack. I would like it if you would join me; Anemone and Conner too if they want to. By instinct alone, I reach out to touch my nose to her cheek softly, my voice low. I would like to never be without you.
I think of the children and our awkward realtionship. I haven't even met Conner yet. I hate myself every day for them not knowing me. Anemone looked so hesitant around me. It only makes me feel more guilty. At least in Spirane I have a place. I am the Hunter. Speaking of, I should probably take some of the pack out for a hunt to provide for the upcoming spring. I shouldn't let myself become a failure as a pack wolf too.
