Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

He could find few words to describe the fantastic strangeness that had been Seren - she was exquisite, seemingly unsure of herself all the same and she possessed her own strange form of innocence. No matter what she did or the way she seemed to stare, he was completely and utterly captivated by the girl in every sense of the word. He vaguely remembered her from their youth but she had grown and become quite a beautiful specimen - each movement was unique, even her eyes held a certain otherworldly beauty. Perhaps she did not see it within herself but he did - he had two perfectly good eyes and they reflected with the image of a dusk-lit Seren. Had he known the depths that her mind went to, he would have only been more captivated - alone, he had turned to his own mind for company. He had wanted to become part of the stars, part of the forests; he wanted to be part of the outside world. Maybe it was why he was so incapable of keeping his inner world, his thoughts and emotions, within himself. He just wanted to be part of it all.

She seemed confused for a moment and a light chuckle rose in his throat as she whined; again, he motioned to the space beside him with a short sweep of his muzzle. His tail thumped idly behind him and a whine rose in his throat at her hesitation; did she wish to leave? Had he made her feel uncomfortable? He detested the idea of being capable of such a thing - his ears fluttered back but no sooner than that did she leap. Elric yipped in partial surprise and joy as her limb wrapped around his chest; he felt her press into him and immediately he followed suit. Gently, he raked his teeth through her pelt, grooming her affectionately - he was too polite to mention or even think on it for too long but come spring, he would certainly be taking her to a body of water. It seemed that whoever was looking after her was simply not doing a good enough job - it was okay, though. He would do it now. He pressed himself against her neck, his ears cupping forward as he felt the slow rhythmic movement of not only her breaths but of her heart - how long had it been since he had heard or felt such a thing? Not since he was but a pup curled up between the forms of his siblings and mother.

He pulled back, another slow chuckle rising in his throat as he queried him - she did not understand? That was fine - it would be quite a fun task to teach her the apparent formalities she had missed. He grinned broad, nodding in apparent confirmation of her request before he reached out once again to place a lick between her ears.

"I have been traveling - strange packs, nomads, even compeltely alone. I have learnt so much, my Seren - to hunt, to hunt, even some of the strangest beliefs! I could show you the world past the crater one day if you would like that. There is so much out there! Wolves with odd pelts and even birds most colourful. Would you like that?"

He paused, his lips slumping into a look of sheer hopefulness as he stared into her eyes; what if she said no? He'd hate to imagine it. It was such a beautiful place out there, maybe even more beautiful than Moladion at times, and he wished to share it with all... especially she who had been sworn to him. It felt right to do so, just as it felt right to force another broad grin into his feature as he nudged at her lightly with his paw.

"Where do you live? What have you been doing since the star fell? Do you... do you have a favorite meal? Maybe I can get it for you, yes?"

Who ever said chivalry was dead?
