Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

Coszcotl’s head snapped over when he heard the uneasy call towards him. At first the language was unfamiliar, it had been some time since the stranger had visited and attempted to talk to him. The thin furred male turned his fire opal eyes on her, nervous himself. She spoke the strange tongue. What should he say? How to say it? For one so large compared to the girl it was probably very weird to see him move a step back and lower his head slightly, showing his fear. He wasn’t physically scared of her of course. But to speak that tongue and not well, this very well could end in ways that were not well for him. First though break the word down, find its meaning in his tongue then translate it back. It was not quick and Coza didn’t want to discourage her. If that is what they spoke here he was going to have to try, even if he did mess up… He only hoped the girl would give him a chance to try.

Hello she said hello. That word was very familiar, one of the very first words he was taught. The dirty male shifted, they had no word simply for this hello in his native tongue, they did this ‘greeting’ with a simple statement of status and name. For him it would have been oceloyotl Coszcotl. Strong Warrior Coszcotl. Though he never liked being a warrior, there were varying types, he was not the highest, but he was, at the very least, not of the bottom ranks of his kin. It was hard to understand that they only had one word for this at first, but he was told it was a word used much in the world of the foreign tongue. Sadly it was one of very few he remembered. The ending word ‘suh’ was completely unfamiliar.

”Hello? The word moved strangely from his maw, as all of these words did. It was strained, and might have sounded edgy, but the uncertain connotation at the end might have saved him. It was just so strage very few of these words made sense to him. Coza wasn’t certain if he dared try more without hearing them first, he didn’t want to make it sound like he spoke this well. He knew he didn’t, he was the only one curious to the Mimati, intelligent one, foreign one, who had come. He had said second was names, he couldn’t remember the proper words for this. Again he tried to word it as his brother would then put it in the new tongue, but it was broken

Me Coszcotl name. Tlatolli ahyectli….” Wrong words… He mumbled after he said his name, but he hoped it wasn’t so broken she didn’t understand.

"This me speak your tongue."
"This is me speaking my Nahuatl tongue"
