Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

This is what it sounds like when the doves cry

The kindness in this short amount of time almost brought her to tears, though none would ever fall in front of another. That was something she just couldn't do, cry in front of others whether she knew them or not. Her lips turned into a genuine smile as she was relived to hear that she did not have to go into the horribleness of her past. Her head peeks into what would be known as her den. Her own! what a mile marker she could put in her memory bank. "No, I do not see any demons of any sort in there" She shifts her eyes towards d'Mani and hobbles into the den, turning around to peer out just as d'Mani turned to leave, and then a tear fell from her weary eyes.

She was overwhelmed with the hospitality she was being shown, and beyond great full for it. Her tender body gently dropped to the dirt floor and if she held no pain she would have wriggled and danced but instead she crossed her front paws and set her head down. If her mother could see her now, the thought brought a smile to her face. Latika would have to start counting just how many time she smiled this day it had to be a world record! For the first time in years her tail wiggled with the feeling of happiness pumping through her veins and her face brightened at the site of d'Mani's return.

As the berries roll into the den she lifts her frame up and moves towards them, her nostrils twitching to gather the sent, the didn't smell foul. From her lowered her she glanced towards d'Mani. "I really can't thank you enough" In small pieces and in a very short amount of time d'Mani some how seemed to show Latika that hope was not far along, that there were wolves out there that cared. The tongue extends and laps up the berries and her face moves into a scrunched up looked. Yup, she was right they did not have a pleasant taste but truth be told they were much better than days old rotten meat she would sometimes scavenge on. She spat her tongue out with distaste but no more than once and then lapped at the sides of her mouth.

Peace and tranquility seemed to overcome her and she drew backwards and settled her frame to the ground once more, she felt safe and secure but wasn't sure how sleep would come, the dreams always had a way of jumping out to bite her. Honestly she almost felt bad for thinking of asking her to leave her be, it's not that she wanted to be alone, no that was not the point for she had been alone for a long, long time. Latika more so wanted to rest, to be able to actually sleep without the fear of always having to be alert. There hasn't been a time in a long time were she has had a full nights rest, that type of rest when you wake up and feel like you can take on the world. A sincere look sweeps over her face. "I do think I am in need of some rest, at least for a few hours that is." Her eyes had a slight worried look to them, she felt bad for not staying up to talk to the other, felt bad for asking her to leave after all she had done for her in this time. Latika would be sure to find her later to thank her once more.
