I am lost in thought as I walk away, pondering over the proper motives for myself to chase them. Maybe I have adrenaline problems. I giggle to myself, finally tuning into my surroundings as I wade through the deep mud of the earthy bog. It is then that I hear it. Seren's young voice rings out against the chorus of the crickets and frogs, pain in her yelp. My head whips around and my hackles stand on edge before I hear the voice, a growl. I am off like a shot of white lightning across the boggy land of Iromar, legs extending to lengthen my stride. Upon arrival I see a bizarre scene. Seren, laying a few feet away from a familiar red form, who huddles over the puppy pelt I had gifted Seren with. Vague comes charging out of the shadows, his weakened form hurtling towards the male sworn to follow and protect me. I let out a short bark of excitement, anxiety, rage. I move before I can stop myself, launching toward my imprint with bloodied fangs exposed in a hellish display of maternal rage. "He is mine, Vague. Mine to punish for hurting my daughter."

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
