aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Kal had felt bad that they had had to leave so shortly after travelling to the secret grove, but felt that the pup would rather have food as soon as possible in comparison to getting to rest. As Kal had spoken to the pup, the pup had given a stiff nod. The alpha found that he was glad that he had restrained himself from carrying the pup – the pup tripped and stumbled a lot, but pushed himself forward bravely. Tyson was clearly a stubborn one. When the tree line had broken, Kal had to pause, allowing Tyson to stop and get used to the blinding light that peaked through the branches.

Though he had not seen the fae at first, the ebony lupine soon came into his vision. She emerged from the treeline, her dark fur making her hard to pick out from the black abyss that still lay under the canopy of the trees – the sun was not strong enough yet to penetrate the intricate web of branches, and so much of the forest floor was still in darkness. The brute felt his maw start to salivate at the sight of the goat that she dragged upon the ground. A good amount of it was still left, though she had clearly had her fill. A good sign, that the fae had been so successful on a hunt and was able to provide herself with so much nourishment. She was clearly a strong warrior… Kal sighed. She was one of the only members from the vote that he had started to get to know. Zig, Chiron, and Glitch had been absent. And even his conversation with Magic had been cut short, the health and survival of the tiniest addition to the pack the most important task at hand. And so he had had to put off getting to know the fae until another chance to converse with her arose. The brute found it strange that Glitch was still absent from his mate’s side. She had even hunted without him. Though curious, the brute would not ask the fae about it, deciding not to breath such a personal subject just yet.

As the fae stepped out of the treeline, the sun finally managed to shine out above the tall peaks of the trees and enlighten the clearing. His sharp gazes saw Magic’s orbs slit themselves – she had mentioned that she had not been active in daylight for years, so it was no wonder that the light pained her so. The fae neared them and put the buckling in front of her, a bit of its blood oozing out of the carcass and soaking into the loosened soil of the meadow. Kalgalath watched as the fae did a once over on the pup. A frown worked its way upon her kissers. After a few more moments of observing the pup, the fae had addressed himself and the pup. Hello again, Kal. And hello, pup, I presume you are the Tyson that I have been requested to feed?

Tyson had responding gruffly with a single word, and Kal choked off a chuckle. Though his manners were almost nonexistent, the pup had a rather large amount of spunk contained in his little frame. Tyson had paused, his gaze flickering from the dead goat up to Magic, and then had dove into the goat. His canines had tried to rip through the rough hide but had travelled to the portion of the goat that Magic had already worked on. Small strips of muscle and meat peeled off and disappeared down the pup’s gullet, and Kal smiled. Though it would be a long while before Tyson’s form filled out, this burst of nutrition would do wonders for his health. The pup ate quickly, gulping down the meat, and quietly Kal spoke to him. “I would suggest slowing down Tyson, there is no need for rush. Eat too fast and you may get a stomach pain..” Noting the pinned audettes, Kal felt a pine of pity for the pup rush through his system once more. Kal glanced up at Magic and smiled at her, and dipped his cranium in thanks. “Thank you Magic, for sharing your meal. ” The brute moved next to the pup and tore off a bit of the rougher meat to expose a little more of the tender pieces underneath for Tyson, knowing that Magic would not mind. The brute ate no more than one large gulp of meat, enough to sustain him until he went for a hunt himself.

The brute smiled down as he noticed that the pup had stopped eating, a few stray streaks of blood upon the pup’s maw. “Full now, Tyson?” Kal shifted his gaze between Magic and Tyson, and then continued on with his monologue. “Magic, have you explored the entire terra? The reason I ask is that this is Tyson’s new home, and though I’m sure he would like to explore it on his own, there are a few key places he should be shown. You are welcome to join” His words were an invitation to the two of them – Kal was willing to give a brief tour to show off some of the views of the terra. “Tyson, if you would like, we can take a rest first. The sunlight surely feels good upon my coat.” The brute stretched out his spine…he had not slept at all that night, between accepting Tyson and Leila, finding Magic and asking her to share her meal with them, and then bringing Tyson to the meal. A nap would be welcome… but it could wait as well.
