At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

It was not that the girl was eavesdropping in on the family's conversation, Kobato never listened in conciously. But the cries that erupted in her eardrums captured her fleeing heart and she turned in their direction. Mommy won't ever see you again. The adolescent pricked up her audettes and moved closer, ramming into a tree once, shaking it out and continuing forward. Kobato had just fled from Munashii Gekko. She had healed the Alpha's heart and now she was on her way to Aurora, to see if anyone there was in need of her kind of healing. As a pup, Kobato had been orphaned, though that story is for none but her to know. Instead of becoming a mute, she became eccentric and outgoing. Almost manically so. Now, the dove was growing, but she was still as clueless as ever when it came to the adult world. Now the girl came into visibility of the trio and she approached slowly, her shoulders relaxed and a compassionate smile on her face. She lowered herself to the ground, without a single moment of hesitation, and began to coo in the little ones direction. Oh no! Why are you crying little ones? Kobato cast a fleeting glance at their father and she lowered her audettes, a motion to show that she had no intention of hurting the little ones. Then, she turned a gentle face back to the little ones. Perhaps this would count as compensation for her wish in healing others' hearts. Your mommy was very brave, yes? Therefore, you mustn't be this way. Steer your sadness into courage and become a brave little thing like your mother! She will surely be very proud of you. Kobato rose slowly and smiled in the male's direction. She tilted her head and smiled graciously. Happiness, per usual, ebbed off her being and offered to envelope those who were around her.  |
