Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

for all your grief [malina]
IP: 184.240.103.13

Fathom moved along beside Malina, another Diveen female who had been all but a stranger only a few hours before. In appearance, they were nearly as twins: dark coats, green eyes. They were quite similar, aside from the white markings that broke the steady black of Malina’s coat and the pronounced limp that broke the sleek pattern of Fathom’s stride. That and Fathom was desperately short against the backdrop of her taller companion.

She did her best not to let her wounded shoulder slow their ingress to the western crater, limping as quickly as she could without tripping or reopening the crusty scabs. As they followed the crater the sand beneath their paws became stone, and she checked at the smell of misty air, the rumble of the waterfall where she had confronted the blood-covered demon. Her black ears lay flat against her skull and she suppressed an anxious whine.

She glanced to Malina at her side. “Here.” It was one word, but it conveyed everything that needed to be said. She was still for another moment, taking a breath of the damp air as it swirled around the stone embrasure ahead of them. Even here she could smell the body decomposing; spring and the constant moisture would have been doing their work on the remains. At least there would be something to find. Something to validate all the effort Malina was putting into investigating the encounter.

Fathom willed herself to move, then led Malina into the shallow cavern.

The body had been moved, but not far: just out of sight of any passers-by. She didn’t feel the need to say anything to Malina. There wasn’t any conversation that would make light of the thing in front of them. The chest had been cracked open, the ribs separated, skin flayed in all directions. The mangled corpse was hardly recognizable as a wolf’s body, and she sneezed at the intensity of its odor trapped within the stone walls.
