In a word, Serris was... disappointed. He honestly expected more from this brute. But maybe his expectations were too high. Really, all he wanted was a simple thoughtful remark. Something to make him think. Ponder. A peek into the mind of this muscled man. Instead, he was bombarded with straightforward answers, venom dripping from his sharp words. Serris felt his ears flatten, pools narrow, chest starting to rise slightly from the terra. What exactly was this male trying to say? The junk he muttered was what every wolf knew, regardless to age. Was he to be lectured to? Had he nothing more creative to say? And this is why the Alpha was left disappointed. Sure, the dark creature was a knight all the same, but it was his intellect that he enjoyed experimenting with, not his strength. The charcoal monarch stiffly rose to all fours, still somewhat peeved and provoked.
“A shame.” He said plainly; although there was no inflection in his voice, his portals still told the story of his intent. “But perhaps I have asked the wrong question. Let me try again, if you’ll give this old man another shot. Why are you really intent on joining this pack? I have not been lied to, but I have not been told the whole truth either.” Yes, this was something that Serris had been sensing for quite some time. Exodus was here for more than to just join a pack. There was some motivation why it had to be this pack. And what of his haste? Surely someone wanting to join such a domain wouldn’t mind a casual word play at the borders. He turned his body so that he was perpendicular to the brute, lining his spine with that of the border. Exposed? Not a chance. Serris would not be the one to get hurt if this newcomer got tired of waiting. His cranium swung into the territory, nares raised slightly to track the activity in the pack. He swiveled back slightly, the edge of his closest sphere gleaming as he stared at Exodus. “By chance, might it have something to do with the femme now trying to gain entrance as well?” His words came out as a slight taunt. Poking fun. A joke. Serris knew he probably shouldn’t push too many buttons, but he didn’t have much tolerance for secrets intentions within his pack.
He had been keeping watch on the interactions for quite some time now. Indirectly, sure, but his nose told him all he needed to know. A female, new, and Aindreas, patrolling as always. And her scent... strangely similar. A mother to this brute? A daughter? A mate? Why had they not arrived together? The last thing he wanted was a couple of feuding family members clogging up the moral. Especially with the pack hunt just around the corner. Serris’ eyebrow raised as he waited for an answer.
