Large doe eyes peer open into the early afternoon sun that streamed unbidden into the young girls eyes. Rhiannon blinked sleepily before raising her golden head to search for her mother. She found the larger wolf behind her – appearing to be hiding in her daughters shadow from the cruel sun as they took an early nap. She yawns and gets up quietly as she tries to move away with as much silence as she can manage with her long gangly appendages.

When she finally makes it out into the warm sunshine, her legs moving in a mostly steady synch, Rhiannon struts around happily her tail wagging as she sniffs around the vast unknown. Her mother had taken them out but not much farther than the den entrance. And while she was a good girl, she had to see more than that.

One day she would grow into her long pale butter colored legs, but for now the young pup looked more like a fawn with her large innocent eyes – each a shimmering swirling luminescent blue and green mix and framed in slightly darker golden fur. She wandered on her stilted limbs with her pale golden body glimmering in the sun letting her nose lead the way. A butterfly detaches itself from a blade of grass in her wake and Rhiannon draws back suddenly – her tiny, fluffy golden body falling into a playing position as she yips at the flying bug. It tries to escape and wolfish brows furrow in adorable anger. Leaping and pouncing her way after it Rhiannon begins her chase. “Your mine”
