She had been mostly consumed by her investigation, only taking time out from time to time to check on the wellbeing of Fathom. She was doing okay, or so it seemed at least, which was good - hopefully she'd make it back to Diveen totally mentally unscathed. That'd be great! Well, there was the small issue that slowly Fathom seemed to be backing out of the cavern, her tail low and heart thumping heavily against her chest but hey, things were still going alright. It wasn't exactly the easiest task to quell anxiety but perhaps giving her a job would do the trick - she was at least thankful even if Fathom called back announcing her find, or lack thereof. With her own preliminary check complete, she chuckled lightly in humour of Fathom's comment as she pivoted to exist the cavern, her steps bouncing and tail waving in her own personal joy. Ah, nothing better than getting just that one inch closer to identifying another Hit, no? A short lived joy, though, when she found Fathom looking up at another form.
Magnus Rufus. At first, Malina studied her with a suspicious look but shrugged it off, quite literally, before stepping slightly in front of Fathom. As a wolf of higher rank, she was obliged to defend her pack mate regardless as to whether Magnus was a threat or not - well, really, she doubted she was. After all, they'd kind of made friends with each other, right? Before that big slob, Andras, came at least. She pressed herself lightly against Fathom to signal her acknowledgement of her question, flashing her a brief look of reassurance before meeting Magnus' gaze with a broad, toothy grin.
"Magnus Rufus, you have found my companion and I in the middle of a rather important find, actually. A little stink and red here and there is probably worth it,"
She chuckled lightly once more, a girlish sound as she took a sweeping step forward, a brow sliding up her features with mischief. It was well known at that point that Rogue was, well, part of Iromar but despite Heyel's warnings and babble about true demons, she found it hard to believe that Rogue was one of them. She was articulate and not too hard to have a conversation with - the others were, assumably, daft. Andras was a sore spot, not only for his pack alignment but also for getting a little too close for her, but Rogue was not. Go figure, huh?
"And what brings you out this way? General curiosity too, no?"
It was not too long after that, that another came - a masculine scent flooded over the stones, his shadow fast rising beside Rogue. Instantly, Malina's gaze flickered to him, absorbing all that he was in that moment: what he was? He was the epitome of the wolf that Rogue had described. She pursed her lips at the realisation, her brows furrowing before she looked back at Fathom. She mouthed her words to her, feigning with a wagging tail - Run. The male's words had been less than inviting and once more, it was Malina's job to keep Fathom safe. If she were to run, she would (with any luck) take the path away from the male and Rogue - if he pursued, Malina had no doubts she would be able to out-run him long before he could catch the female. With that said and done, she turned back to Covet with a quizzical facade, a half smile and a tilted head.
"This your work? Quite an artist in that case. Reminds me of somebody I know, actually. You from around here, stranger?"
There is no question that Malina was indeed from Diveen - it reeked on her pelt, but if she would at least cover up her intentions well enough, maybe Fathom and she would make it. Of course, if Fathom chose to run too early... things could easily go a bit sour, no? Well, they'd wait and see. Besides, he smelt not of Iromar - how would Rufus take the sudden intrusion of their quality time?
