Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

She seemed so much like him - a little weary, on guard and undoubtedly a little mind blown by the strangeness of it all. He had come with nothing but business on his mind but when he had arrived, he'd quickly fallen in love with the idea of adventure - there was so much to explore and learn, even more of the strange language he had tried so hard to grasp before his arrival. The packs, too, made him curious to no avail - what were they like? How were they run? Did they, too, have customs and traditions to uphold unlike many of the loners had been by? Amongst it all, though, he was excited to have found another so alike to him - wild, alien in this new world. It was familiar, a sense of home radiating from her that drove every inch of him to pay complete attention - from the way her pelt moved, to the way her mouth moved when she spoke. So... familiar, so at peace.

"Det er mye å lære," he chuckled, nodding slowly in confirmation before watching her seemingly disappear into her own thoughts - he simply watched, daring to imagine the places she had been or the placed she remembered. Though they spoke the same language, they could have undoubtedly come from such varied worlds.

The silence was short lived and she obliged to his meager request, and his own throat thrummed with a light laughter as she accidentally brushed by him - it was fascinating, the way she moved her tail away. Embarrassment had been such an innocent emotion, one that he had seldom seen in his time - he had, for the most part, been raised solely by men. As a younger male, he had not ventured far from his own family out of sheer choice - he had dedicated his time to learning to survive alone; fighting, hunting, mastering the creation of a den. Younger females, those who felt embarrassment and joy, they went untouched by him but to have one so close to him? The pup inside him jumped out of joy.

He tilted his head as he turned to watch her speak once more, nodding in confirmation before he pondered on it. Her home, truthfully, sounded familiar and yet he could not for the life of him picture it in its entirety - he did, though, remember as a young boy chasing the lynx in an attempt to rile them up. They were such fierce little fighters and he smiled at the memory, though he could not help but wander. His head tilted to its opposite axis, his brows furrowed together in a slight frown of query before he spoke once more, avoiding the Moladion tongue this time (he took the hint - perhaps she was not as fluent.)

"Hvorfor forlot du? Hvis du ikke tankene meg spørre."

Maybe she was on the same type of mission or perhaps she had simply been driven by an urge to explore - he wanted to know. Actually, he wanted to know her; she was fast becoming his own private piece of the North, a fond remember in a beautiful shell. He felt a pang of nervousness as he realised that and he swallowed a lump that had formed in his throat, stumbling over his words briefly as he attempted to reply to her own question. Well, that was unusual.

"Mountains, yes... uh, jeg kommer fra fjellene," he stuttered initially, breaking his native tongue out of sheer nervousness before flashing her a sheepish grin. Despite it all, Ragnar was still young having not quite been initiated as a true man with his people, "Vi har alltid vært en stor gruppe, men snøen er grusom. Det er så rart her - jeg er ikke helt vant til det ennå. Savner du skogene og gaupe?"
