Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He scowled at her words for a moment as he righted himself. An ambush? Why would these females be attempting to ambush him? What kind of physical trap could they ever been attempting to implement that would ensnare him in such a manner. Indeed, Pan is aware of his intelligence and is indeed aware that he lacks certain skills in areas given to be highly emotion based. Girls are confusing, they desire from him things he is unwilling to give and indeed often finds genuinely bizarre. They seek touch and affection and Pan finds himself unsure how to offer these things without direct scientific study and really, who was going to let him touch them so as to better study how it should best be done? He does not require supreme intelligence to need to understand that wolves do not like to be poked at.

"I find myself doubtful of your ambush hypothesis, on what do you base it aside from the fact that as a female you may have some understanding of the inner workings of other females?"

Yes Malina. Answer that. Of course it did not occur to the golden boy that she may have been deliberately vague. Pan is never vague and thus assumes others live by the same principal. Had he known her true thoughts on the matter though he surely would have laughed them off in the same easy manner. Perhaps they did follow him because of the winter, because instinct demanded they seek a suitable male, a male of exceptional physical standard and health, yet even if he is such things- he is not of an age to do anything about it. He can sire no children and surely they would be aware of that. Next winter, perhaps, they should come back. He moved then to speak of his family, his true-blood family and a topic the young male very rarely speaks of. It is perhaps the curse of his intelligence, that even at such a young age he had understood the deaths of his parents, had been forced into the role of guardian to his beloved Seven and Salem in turn. He was forced to grow up well before he should and despite the maturity of his mind, there are parts of him that had never been allowed to grow and learn as they should and though he hides it well, the boy has been left marked by the deaths of his family, so, so many. He has come to despise change, resents and fears it. He craves stability and order and perhaps this is not surprising, not really though of course he refuses to accept his own emotional disorder. For a few moments the black assassin was silent, obsidian eyes lifting to her own, curious at her lack of conversation, at the thought that he may have surprised her. Was she not a bringer of death? Did she not see this often? Surely she was not affected by it? That may well be why he had chosen to tell her of it, understanding that she was far less likely to take pity upon him. He did not need pity. His family was very long gone. He had only Seven, Weylin, Salem and Alexander now and the later he had never met.

When she did speak he found his handsome head tilting again, fur of copper and gold bright within the sun. He understood indeed, that all assassins, to his knowledge, served the Angel King though he had not been of the knowledge that a sub-ordinate held the power to stop him. Of course, Pan was content to remain unknown to this so-called Heyel, content to allow the Angel King to believe his line long since dead, after all, Pan had never been a threat, he had never desired to take back Trenus, birth-right or not. Trenus no longer even existed yet he understands that such a creature holds grudges most long. He managed a grin at her words however, gorgeous features alight.

"There isn’t really any family to speak of, just.....me. My brother Seven has a different Mother as does my sister Alexander, though I have never even met her. It is the blood of Wild Justice he hates- and I am the last of her legacy. So it’s just- me. Though I look exactly like her, my Mother. Your offer is very much- appreciated. He does not know of me, does he? The Angel King?"

After all, if he believes Pan dead, the boy is content to believe himself relatively safe and truly he did not believe Malina to be the type to run back to Diveen and inform Heyel of the whereabouts of the last of a line he had worked tirelessly to destroy. Perhaps she was an Assassin, untrustworthy by nature, or so they say, yet Pan does not believe this of her, at least not entirely. She had so far made no attempt to assassinate him and by this logic the golden male is of the opinion that she is not going to do so. He moved to speak then of their previous tussle, informing her with precise care as to who on and how exactly she could best perform the move, obsidian eyes finding her own, assuring she understood as he proceeded to give precise detail of such things, the black female answering with a precise nod, his eyes drawn to her single white ear as she did so. Very odd. He should like to question her about her parentage some time. His ears slide forward as she spoke once more, mentioning his own proportions, a thing he has studied in great detail, never having quite managed to understand how it was that he had managed to achieve such short stature with a father who stood at 43in high and possessed no actual muscle and a Mother who stood near 36in and was very heavy by comparison. It seemed he was a compact version of his mother and indeed he is a near replica of her in colour of fur and eyes, very little of Indus within him, though his sire was heavily represented by Seven in his earth coat and tall, tall stature. He grinned readily at Malina’s words however, chuckling lightly.

"Your words are exceptionally helpful and indeed I have considered this, yet to hear it from another of your experience only confirms my hypothesis. As it is- I rarely use my strength. I understand it is there and I know I am capable of significant shows of power and a relatively remarkable bite force within my jaws- yet I have little cause to fight, truly. I prefer academic pursuits and most opponents I have come up against have been out-smarted in a matter of moments. I needn’t physically do anything yet I see the value in it. Thank you for your assistance however, it was very kind and I find you exceptionally well trained."

He grinned once more, praise and compliment coming easily as his tail waved a moment. He thoroughly enjoyed having another so well educated to discuss matters with, truly he would seek to spend further time with this female, she was bright and intelligent and he finds such qualities highly......attractive. He stood once more as a smirk touched Malina’s lips, her words causing his own eyes to lift as he moved to seat himself beside her, facing the open, snowy field that led away from Glorall, a field Pan knows well and one indeed that he knows to be filled with very large snow drifts, areas of deep, deep snow that would sink even the lightest wolf, creating rather a problem for one as heavy as himself, even Malina would sink within it, though he doubts she knows they are there. He paused a moment, considering her question. The field before them was flat and open save for the multiple rocky out crops, tumbled boulders and ridges covered in snow. His lip lifted slightly, obsidian eyes gleaming as he nodded to her proposal.

"Very well Malina, if that is your desire I will take you offer of a head-start, after all I am a deal heavier and will sink within the snow. We shall race from where we sit now, to that far tree."

He gestured forward a ways, there was only one tree so truly she could not mistake it for any other.

"When I reach that first boulder, you may start, that gives me an advantage of a few lengths at best, we race across the field and to the tree, first to reach it is victorious. Shall we begin? I shall count. One, two, three...go!"

He waited long enough to ensure she understood before beginning to count, leaping forward from his place beside her, dashing across the light snow and tearing past the first boulder, signalling her time to start as he hit the heavy snow that lay between himself and the finish line. Yet Pan is far from foolish, he knows well what he has done and no sooner than his paws his the snowy drifts, then does the golden boy pivot, lunging upwards and onto a small boulder, leaping from it to the next and the next, rapidly closing the distance between himself and the finish line, his method allowing him to avoid all deep snow, his jumps covering astounding ground at rapid pace. Well Malina, you wanted to give him head start, no?
