Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Today, We were being bad. Mother said Alyx and I were not to go past the boulders, but I had. I wanted to prove to her just how brave I could be, I wanted to walk right past those boulders and He said we should go to the very centre of Diveen where all the other wolves are. He said there were other puppies there and I knew He was right, because I had heard them from a distance and because Mother had told me of them. I did not know their names, or what they looked like, but I knew they were my cousins and I thought maybe if I was very, very good, Mother would take me to meet them....but I don’t think that is working. I try to be very good and always do what she says and always, always I bring her back a present when I go out. Sometimes I bring her a butterfly and sometimes I bring her a flower or a very pretty stick or even a rock that is reeeeeally round and smooth because those are very rare. I know, because I spend a lot of time with rocks, because I don’t really have any friends except Him and Alyx. They all stay away. Because I think I am bad and so maybe, if I am bad, I should act bad- that is why I waited until sunset, when the light was going down and Mother had gone away. I don’t know where she goes when she thinks I am sleeping, but I watched her once, she was bad and went out of Diveen, she went to him, a big wolf coloured all black who was waiting so silently in the shadows that I didn’t see him until he moved. She went with Shadow- but I knew she’d come back to me. Mother would never leave Alyx and I.
But she has gone to visit Shadow again today and I know she will be gone for awhile. I counted last time, I counted to as many numbers as I could count and then He counted for me when I ran out of numbers. We got really to a really big number before she came back, so I know I have a lot of time. I ran from the den, running as quick as my small puppy legs could take me across the golden plain, racing towards the boulder we weren’t allowed to go past, emerald eyes narrowing before I leapt, lunging right past it, giggling as I did and racing towards the centre of the pack. Ok....so it was actually really far and my legs were getting tired. I flattened my ears back, running harder. I would not give up, I would make it all the way! Mother said I would grow to be large and tall, much larger then her though I didn’t really believe it. I had very big feet, but that was about it and they weren’t all that useful. I panted and kept running, white legs moving as hard as they could. The way I was going I wasn’t going to make it even half way before Mother got back.....and before it got dark. I didn’t want it to get dark. The dark- scared me.
Let me run for a bit, it’ll take like, forever, if you run like this.
I ignored Him. I was in charge and I was......tired. I slowed to a lope and finally a walk, panting heavily from my sprint across a good distance of the pack lane, my den seeming very far away and very small, except, the main part of the Pack was just as far away and small and I was in the middle and it was getting darker. I whined. Maybe I should just go back. This was not a very good idea and I felt nervous. I didn’t know any of these wolves and maybe...maybe they really didn’t like me. I wished Alyx had come. I might be the older Brother but I was always more brave when he was with me- although, I suppose I had Him, though I didn’t think he was all that powerful. At least, standing in the middle of this giant plain made me think we were both pretty small. I looked up, emerald eyes seeking the setting sun. Well, that was pretty, I smiled shakily. It would be fine, just a bit further and I would be at the main Pack.
Elijah, we need to go, turn around, go back to our den.
I’d never heard His voice sound like that before. He was never afraid. I paused, one silly big paw raised. When I answered I remembered to speak in my head like he’d taught me. Just so nobody would think I was a crazy.
Why?
I....I don’t like it here, someone’s coming, listen It’s probably Alyx, he always comes with me.

I snarled, heckles lifting for the first time, revealing the extent of my blazing red mohawk as I slammed my paw back into the ground and kept on walking towards the main part of the pack. I was afraid, but I refused to admit it, not to him. I’d prove him wrong, I’d show him I wasn’t that afraid of the dark. I’d just run all the way back. He suddenly spoke again, his voice like a roar in my ears, stronger than it had ever been before. I yelped in fear of a voice only I could hear, ears flattening as I shook my head wildly.
You damn well turn around, Angel Boy or I will take over!
"Get away! You leave me alone! You leave me alone! Maaama!"
I shouted out loud, like I wasn’t supposed to do, shouting at him, calling for Mother, heckles raised as I spun, my legs not obeying my body, as if they tried to go a different way, the result being only that I stumbled over myself, wobbling back towards my den, then back towards the centre of the pack, stumbling in every direction. Why weren’t my legs listening?! Someone was going to see me, snarling and growling and stumbling all over the place, they would think I was bad or crazy....I didn’t want them to think that. I wasn’t bad. What if someone saw me? Why didn’t my paws listen? I growled in frustration, an anger I didn’t know I had bubbling up as I near roared with all my puppy strength.
"STOP IT LEGS, STOP IT. "
I glared at them, those silly white limbs, bracing myself, forcing myself to stop a smile touching my lips when they finally stopped carrying me all over the place. I sighed, suddenly tired. I had done it. I had stopped my legs. Mother had never told me legs would do that, they had always listened before.
You didn’t need to damn well shout. I just wanted you to turn around.
I didn’t get a chance to answer as I sat, black face twisted in confusion. What did he mean? It didn’t matter....someone was coming.

Lightning Queen
The Queen of Diveen. She may accept all challenges and block any steal. She is the sworn protector of the pack and all who reside here.
Thunder King
The Lightning Queen's mate and second-in-comman. He may accept any challenge and block all steals. He may accept new members. This position cannot be challenged for but is currently empty.
Whirlwind
This rank belongs to the closest advisor to the Lightning Queen. This wolf can block steals and accept new members. When there is no Thunder King, this rank may accept challenges. This rank cannot be challenged for.
Stormfront
These wolves are the protectors of the borders and are personal guards to the Lightning Queen. They may help to gauge new wolves and are essentially the domestic protector. In certain times they may be called upon to resolve domestic disputes, but generally they are tasked with watching the borders or staying close to the Lightning Queen. At times, information may need to be brought to the Stormfront who will personally deliver messages to the Lightning Queen.
Quake
The Quake is the lead warrior and in charge of the Tremors, who make up the brute force of the pack. This wolf is a protector of the borders and may accept new wolves. They may be called upon to help gauge a new member. They train the Tremors. Haze
The Haze is the head thief and secret keeper of the pack, charged with acting in the pack’s best interest and operating with a low profile. They train the Mists. They also act as a scout, relaying and finding out information. They work closely with the Tsunami. This wolf may block steals. Monsoon
The Monsoon is the lead healer and caregiver of the pack. They are tasked with healing wounds, assisting with births, and making sure that the pack remains happy and healthy both mentally and physically. They may also be called upon to boost morale through storytelling or other means. They train the Rains. Tsunami
The Tsunami is the lead diplomat and peacekeeper, tasked with protecting the pack from internal and external strife, as well as form treaties and ally with other packs in conjunction with the Lightning Queen and Whirlwind. They report directly to the Lightning Queen, and train the Tides. Blizzard
The Blizzard works closely with the Haze, but is more of an information gatherer. They may act as a thief at times, but are largely tasked with spying and scouting, reporting their findings to their superiors. Hurricane
The Hurricane is the head hunter of the pack. They train the Wind and organize pack hunts.
Rainbow
This wolf is the joker of the pack. Their job is to bring a smile to everyone's face and try to keep a light mood. They will be tasked with caring for pups and keeping an eye on them. They are the keeper of all types of fun and games for the pack. Gale
The Gale is concerned mostly with keeping track of the history of the pack, collecting stories and learning of events that might have happened long ago. They might tell history as stories to pups or create events in honor of those who have gone before.
Tremors
These wolves report to the Quake and make up the protectors and warriors of the pack.
Mists
The agents of the Haze, these wolves are tasked with maintaining order through more secretive means.
Tides
The Tides are diplomats and report to the Tsunami, they may be tasked with updating treaties or contacting allies.
Rains
These are the healers and caregivers of the pack, and they report to the Monsoon. They may be called upon as healers or babysitters. Winds
These are the hunters of the pack, responsible for feeding each member. They report to the Hurricane. Snows
These are the scouts of the pack, reporting to the Blizzard- they are involved with information gathering, both internal and external, and may be called upon as guerilla fighters of sorts should the time come.
Dusk
The general members of the pack, those who have not yet chosen a path or rank. However, they are still highly valued and may be called upon for other things.
Twilight
The apprentices of the pack, pups older than one who are in training.
Dawn
The innocence and the future of our pack.
Day
Esteemed guests of the pack.
Sun
Those allied with the pack, to be treated with respect and offered assistance.
Moon
Those who shine down upon us and guide us with their light.
Eclipsed
Those who have proven themselves enemies of the pack, they should not be trusted.
