Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Alana’s trusting nature did put her at a disadvantage, perhaps not in this situation but definitely in others. So far, however, her instincts had managed to save her from any real harm due to this – a situation which, though in itself, could create more problems for her in the future, having not learned the hard lesson of the costs of trusting the wrong individual. Indeed, the caution she uses is more learned from her mother than anything she would have naturally developed. That aside, in this situation, it seems to have done her no harm.

At Leviathan’s motion, Alana moved farther from the cave mouth, her footsteps careful and light, although still keeping some distance from the other wolf – she wasn’t reckless, after all. Still, having a better view of the younger wolf, she was struck by her beauty. She felt somewhat intimidated by it. Were all wolves in this land so striking? She felt that she was very plain in comparison, the only feature that stood out on her was the fading colors in her eyes, from yellow at the center to green. Still, she would prefer the ability to go unnoticed than to stand out.

She was glad for Leviathan’s willingness to not linger on the subject of the loss of her mother – the only family she had really known. Though she was older and had been alone for some time now, it was still not an easy subject for her. Due to that she had no knowledge of any remaining family that she may or may not have. She did not even know who her own father was. Her mother had told Alana that he was dead, but her mother’s aversion to others of their kind led Alana to believe that he might still be out there somewhere.

The caution she had been trained to observe struck again as Leviathan offered to take Alana to her pack. More strange wolves. One stranger was easy enough to be around and one such as Leviathan offered little danger. While Alana was small and light on her feet, those skills did not help her much if the other wolves did not take to her. Leviathan’s warning instilled further concern in her. While she did not want to be alone, she also did not want to risk her life to end that. She especially did not want to be seen as trying to steal their kill, that was certainly not a way to endear herself to anyone. Still, Leviathan seemed kind enough and if the others were like her at least in that aspect…

You really don’t think they would mind me coming? I’ve never been part of a pack, it was just the two of us before…

She cut herself off, looking off across the terrain without really seeing it, her mind weighing the options. In the end she did not know what decided her, perhaps she was more lonely than she took into account, or perhaps she was simply foolish, but her mind was decided. She raised her head, her eyes meeting Leviathan’s in her determination. This determination was half false bravado, of course, for she really was quite intimidated by the notion of an entire pack of wolves.

I will go with you.
