Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

I went further every day, just a bit, coming closer and closer each time to the main part of the pack I wasn’t supposed to be in. I still didn’t know why I wasn’t allowed, why Mama always called me back or got cross when I strayed. She got even madder when other wolves came near us. It was almost like she was afraid of them. She only ever let Grandfather come near us and even then, he was never allowed in our den and only allowed to play with us while she watched. I didn’t know what she was afraid of, what it was we had done that made us have to stay on the outskirts and yet with each week that went by, my legs got a little longer and I got a little less scared of trying to find all the other wolves. I didn’t want to make Mama upset but I had seen everything there was to see on the outskirts, I’d only ever had one visitor apart from Heyel and I wanted to find her again, or at least see where it was she had gone home to. I had been patient at first and I was still worried that doing anything bad would stop me from being the Angel I so badly wanted- but I was getting bored and He was becoming intolerable, always telling me to stop being a baby and calling me Angel Boy. I wasn’t a baby and I’d show him. I was old enough to be on my own for a little while and my legs were not so tiny anymore that I couldn’t go for a little walk while Mama was away visiting Shadow and Alyx was asleep. I wanted to wake him up and take him with me, but Alyx got grumpy when he was woken up and I didn’t feel like wrestling with him today. No. I would go on my own- well, He would come but He came everywhere with me. I would be sure to bring Mama back a present, then she wouldn’t be mad if she found out.
We should follow the stream, see where that leads Alright.
He seemed like he was going to be nice today, he didn’t sound angry at all. Sometimes I didn’t even mind him, when he was friendly. He knew lots of things and he was fun to talk to- sometimes. Other times He frightened me a little bit and sometimes, very rarely- he was afraid. He never, never spoke with Heyel was around, he wouldn’t even answer me then but he never said why, he just started humming or ignoring me, even Alyx wasn’t as annoying as him. I trotted forward and towards the water, not to close, because I didn’t want it to leap out and grab me, yet close enough to see my reflection. Why did my head have to be black? Why did my eyes have to be green? Angels didn’t have black heads or green eyes and all I wanted was to be one of them. I didn’t even know where it had come from. Mama was white and pretty and Grandfather was the same. Why did my head have to ruin it. I whined and turned away, leaping forward to bounce along beside the stream until I heard a great roar. What was that?! Someone was roaring and roaring and the water was getting faster.
What is that?
How should I know? I can only see what you can see or hear and I don’t know by sound what every single thing is, Angel Boy. Might be the water.
I frowned, the water never normally sounded loud. I kept going as fast as my little white legs would take me, rounding the corner and climbing up a very small ridge- that’s when I saw it. The falls. Water pouring out of the tallest rocks I had ever seen, exploding into to air to fall into the sky and land in the river. I yapped in delight, tall waving in excitement, even he was impressed, I heard his exclamation, though he denied it when he heard me thinking about it. I didn’t mind. I stopped, about to turn around, to run back and get Alyx and show him when I saw them. Wolves. Other wolves in all different colours, white and black and brown and grey. So many and some were SO big. Wow. I felt excitement and nervousness run through me, paws kneading uncertainly at the earth. I wanted to go to them, I wanted to meet them- but maybe Mama would be mad. She never let the others come near me. I had heard her tell Grandfather she was afraid for us, but I didn’t understand why.
Your not like them, that’s why. It’s because you’re not an Angel, I’ve told you this.
I ignored him, feeling my emerald eyes start to sting with tears I refused to cry. I was to an Angel, I was good and kind and I always brought Mama presents when I went out. He was just a- jerk. I’d prove to him I was right, I’d ask these wolves, they would tell me, the white one even looked like Mama. I went forward, little legs carrying me towards to congregation on the banks, two wolves stood in the stream, the rest on the land beside, speaking to each other. I lowered myself to the ground, nervous, keeping my red mohawk flat as I crept forward, closer and closer until I was beside a black female (Brooke), emerald eyes peering around, waiting to see if someone noticed me- before He noticed something else, my head jerking without my consent towards the wolves in the water, the white and black ones and the water......there was something in the water He wanted me to see. The black one (Kane)- he was....leaking. I gasped loudly, stumbling back and into another small wolf (Meryl), the jolt knocking me from my small paws though I quickly pulled myself up, staring wide-eyed towards Kane, unable to look at anyone or anything else. He was leaking onto his pelt and into the water and onto the white one (Isola). Why was he so broken? Is that what was inside us? Did he fall and split himself open?
You should go closer, can’t you smell it? He is....weak right now, the others won’t do anything, we’re so little, we won’t hurt him, go a bit closer. No, he’s all broken....
What is your problem, Angel Boy? I just want a closer look, just go a bit closer. But I might fall in the water
I didn’t want to do that, I didn’t want to go anywhere near the scary leaking wolf and I couldn’t smell anything different, what was He talking about? I whined, backing up again, putting myself right underneath the black female (Brooke) shutting my eyes and hiding behind her foreleg, turning my Tobias-replica head away from Kane, refusing to look.
"I wanna be an Angel."
I murmured the words into her leg, trying so hard to block Him out- but he was getting angry.

THE RANKS
Lightning Queen
The Queen of Diveen. She may accept all challenges and block any steal. She is the sworn protector of the pack and all who reside here.
Thunder King
The Lightning Queen's mate and second-in-comman. He may accept any challenge and block all steals. He may accept new members. This position cannot be challenged for but is currently empty.
Whirlwind
This rank belongs to the closest advisor to the Lightning Queen. This wolf can block steals and accept new members. When there is no Thunder King, this rank may accept challenges. This rank cannot be challenged for.
Stormfront
These wolves are the protectors of the borders and are personal guards to the Lightning Queen. They may help to gauge new wolves and are essentially the domestic protector. In certain times they may be called upon to resolve domestic disputes, but generally they are tasked with watching the borders or staying close to the Lightning Queen. At times, information may need to be brought to the Stormfront who will personally deliver messages to the Lightning Queen.
Quake
The Quake is the lead warrior and in charge of the Tremors, who make up the brute force of the pack. This wolf is a protector of the borders and may accept new wolves. They may be called upon to help gauge a new member. They train the Tremors. Haze
The Haze is the head thief and secret keeper of the pack, charged with acting in the pack’s best interest and operating with a low profile. They train the Mists. They also act as a scout, relaying and finding out information. They work closely with the Tsunami. This wolf may block steals. Monsoon
The Monsoon is the lead healer and caregiver of the pack. They are tasked with healing wounds, assisting with births, and making sure that the pack remains happy and healthy both mentally and physically. They may also be called upon to boost morale through storytelling or other means. They train the Rains. Tsunami
The Tsunami is the lead diplomat and peacekeeper, tasked with protecting the pack from internal and external strife, as well as form treaties and ally with other packs in conjunction with the Lightning Queen and Whirlwind. They report directly to the Lightning Queen, and train the Tides. Blizzard
The Blizzard works closely with the Haze, but is more of an information gatherer. They may act as a thief at times, but are largely tasked with spying and scouting, reporting their findings to their superiors. Hurricane
The Hurricane is the head hunter of the pack. They train the Wind and organize pack hunts.
Rainbow
This wolf is the joker of the pack. Their job is to bring a smile to everyone's face and try to keep a light mood. They will be tasked with caring for pups and keeping an eye on them. They are the keeper of all types of fun and games for the pack. Gale
The Gale is concerned mostly with keeping track of the history of the pack, collecting stories and learning of events that might have happened long ago. They might tell history as stories to pups or create events in honor of those who have gone before.
Tremors
These wolves report to the Quake and make up the protectors and warriors of the pack.
Mists
The agents of the Haze, these wolves are tasked with maintaining order through more secretive means.
Tides
The Tides are diplomats and report to the Tsunami, they may be tasked with updating treaties or contacting allies.
Rains
These are the healers and caregivers of the pack, and they report to the Monsoon. They may be called upon as healers or babysitters. Winds
These are the hunters of the pack, responsible for feeding each member. They report to the Hurricane. Snows
These are the scouts of the pack, reporting to the Blizzard- they are involved with information gathering, both internal and external, and may be called upon as guerilla fighters of sorts should the time come.
Dusk
The general members of the pack, those who have not yet chosen a path or rank. However, they are still highly valued and may be called upon for other things.
Twilight
The apprentices of the pack, pups older than one who are in training.
Dawn
The innocence and the future of our pack.
Day
Esteemed guests of the pack.
Sun
Those allied with the pack, to be treated with respect and offered assistance.
Moon
Those who shine down upon us and guide us with their light.
Eclipsed
Those who have proven themselves enemies of the pack, they should not be trusted.
