had to make my first rescue of the year when a painted turtle decided to settle in on the middle of the southbound lane on Victoria Road; i was well past it before i realized what i had just passed over so turned around and helped it finish crossing the road
not only did this rescue make me feel good, i also got to see my first green-winged teal of the year
