Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

I DON'T OWE YOU ANYTHING

He should have walked away. There had been multiple chances for it, and yet he had not. He'd known the deepest, blackest areas of his mind and how twisted things could get when he was near Jaidah. He had known it, but it hadn't settled in this time. He had thought all the things that had happened, all the years apart would have kept him from this. From any of it. There were so many things he had never meant to do when it came to Jaidah. There had been times when a primal part of him craved things no one in their right mind would want. With Jaidah, there does not seem to be any line left unblurred. All the darkest parts of him are lured to the surface, and it's too difficult to fight for long. It's why this time, when the thoughts came, he didn't even try. He accepted the urge for what it was and acted on it.

Cobryn did not know what he expected. A struggle, perhaps? To pull her from the silence and grab any kind of emotion out. It didn't matter if she was violent about it; he would almost enjoy such a thing. He needs to be pulled from his own depths, after all. So much is happening in these moments that Cobryn doesn't realize. He's blind to it. What he's doing is going to come back on him, and it's going to hurt. It's obvious because that's the way his life worked. It's how it all boiled down in the end. Cobryn can't catch a break, because no matter what lull he finds, he will always be drawn to fuck it up. He doesn't understand it, and he's far too worn to go against the current any longer. He acted, reacted, and the pieces would fall where they may. But it did something to him; this acceptance. It changed him.

When Jaidah stands, he tugs at her scruff; commanding and questioning at the same time. Mixed, conflicted. But she encourages his movement, and he settles for rough and needy. Jaidah was a bad influence, yes. He was aware that this wouldn't change. He doesn't want to admit that he wouldn't have it any other way. It would never work right any other way. There's not much left to him after all that's happened, and anyone could see it. He was so different from before; from the first day he stepped paw in these lands. It had been years. Eight years or so. Look at how it all had changed. Eventually Cobryn is spent, and he steps away from her. He focuses on controlling his breathing, his heartbeat; shutting out the whirling thoughts running rampant through his mind. There are no words for now, not from him. There's no telling what it proved to him right now. The emotions were closed off from his expression. He was a blank slate in these seconds.
