- oschem

the lanky disgrace of a wolf lumbered along with his head and tail low, a pitiful sight to watch.
he was a newcomer to the lands dubbed moladion. there was no reason in particular that he had ventured in, aside from the fact that he was shunned by his former pack and he had nowhere else to be. everywhere he went he was hated by everyone it seemed. probably because he was so cruel and careless, putting up a strong wall of "i-dont-give-a-fuck" attitude towards others. he was hard to love because he simply offered nothing for anyone to love.
the sun stood high in a cloudless sky and the ground beneath his paws was nothing but stiff blades of dead, yellowing grass. the summer's heat was intense and relentless, baking the world as if it were an unforgiving furnace. a tundra wolf such as oschem did not belong in such a sweltering place like this one, with his thick layers of fur that sucked the heat in and trapped it.
oschem found himself panting heavily, his parched tongue flopped to the side of his cocked jaw. there was a crunch beneath his paws with each step he took over the dead earth floor and he reset his destination towards the whispers of water from a nearby waterfall. he was dying for the cool liquid to quench his thirst, and maybe after he'd go far a relaxing swim.
the water cascaded down into a glinting crystal pool like a white veil over the rocks. the orange and white and black shimmering scales of koi glittered the small pond of water and lilies decorated it near the shore sides. he carefully stepped over the rocks and into the shade of the small cavern on the cobblestone wall. now out of the direct rays of the murderous sun light, he took a deep refreshing breath and look down at his reflection in the water.
he was scrawny. he didn't even deserve to be called a wolf. he was just a dirty little rodent, scavenging meals and hiding in the shadows of others. who would even know - or care, for that matter - if he died? no one. oschem was a nobody.
but he sort of liked it that way.
with a sigh, he lowered his cranium to the water. when his nose touched the surface it dispersed into ripples and the fish below quickly swam away. he closed his grey eyes and began to lap the water, letting it cool his dry mouth and rejuvenate him.
