She'd always been alone - there was nothing else to it, really. Sure, she had the others of her Art but seldom did any others truly seek to know her. She was simply... a wolf with a rank, nothing more, not a wolf with a face or a name. Now, don't take it for complaining - she'd been better off without the attachment of relationships. How many had she lost when the world collapsed? How long had she mourned? Naught but a day for with loneliness came strength. Such was the way of an Assassin and yet at the turn of five, it seemed that things were... changing. Hell, she'd even begun to find herself decisively seeking those she could be interested in knowing - thus far, she had Fathom and Rogue but few others. Her mother was by extension included but her brother? Bah, he didn't have time for her anyway, not with all this talk of founding a new pack and whatnot. Would she have missed him if he had fallen to the fires? She frowned in contemplation, for once unsure as to what her answer was.
For a moment, she seemed preoccupied - as Magnus trotted alongside her, Malina took to scouting ahead, her eyes sweeping the landscape and her ears swiveling about. If Rogue was surprised that they had not been set upon then Malina was damn well dumbstruck - Azrael would have usually been there in an instant, or even Heyel with his little hip-attachment, Micteca. No, no, none came and well, seriously, she was thankful. Part of her hoped that meant they were at least gaining some respect for her position as the Assassin's Dark Angel but the majority of her knew it was probably only because they hadn't been found out yet. Let them come and let them shout, for she would be more than happy to dish her own words out if it came to it. Iromar had, despite all their travesty, treated their prisoners with some kind of respect so what was a visitor to Diveen?
She'd noticed Magnus' silence and had accepted it, for she could relate - often, she found herself frozen mid-sentence with uncertainty. Once, a boy had called her beautiful and all she could do was stutter and insult from afar - imagine somebody wanting her to be happy! She shook her head to rid of the absurd notion before swinging her gaze back to Magnus, letting laughter fill the air once more - parasites! Huh, she'd never thought of Micteca like that but really, it made sense and jeez, there were a lot of parasites within Moladion. I mean, really, even Ruvindra had been a parasite who had fed off the fear of puppies and the fear that Fatality and Jaidah incited - good on Baphomet for at least producing fear rather than just leeching off it.
"I'm glad we can agree on that; sadly, there will probably be a time when I am called on to aid the girl but until then, feel free to pass the message on to your pack folk that she is to be, I don't know, kept mildly content until that day."
She shrugged once more, but her point was quickly cut off by Rogue - no longer of Iromar? Her brows raised inquisitively, her head tilted and ears cupping forward - if it was possible for her ears to fall off, they would have. Whatever was to follow was undoubtedly going to be of interest and for that matter, it changed everything. If she no longer had pack affiliation, it meant she was a free wolf more without the need for secrecy, right? Then again, culture was probably part of the wolf and not simply the pack. It put her at risk, though, and for that Malina would keep a close eye on her - nobody was going to kill her source of information.
"You've left Iromar? That is ... most curious. It's not often you hear of a wolf leaving a pack, particularly one so renown for its, pardon me, animosity."
It was a subtle implication but she hoped that some kind of follow up story would be present - why had she left? Had she been chased out for consorting with Malina? Was it some kind of strange demon culture thing? Oh god, the curiosity was almost unbearable - she had to know if not then, then soon! Until then, she suppressed her urge to question further, her lips taut in concentration - yes, it was an effort to keep her mouth shut. Though she'd grown quite used to biting her tongue, she was prone to verbal explosions in instances of excitement and unfortunately, curiosity was exciting. That sad drawl though, damn, they caught her off guard and her eyes widened just a little in shock. Ah, so... demons had real feelings, like Heyel had felt even. Hm, interesting that and quite contrary to what she had been lead to believe...
"Perhaps I cannot, but I would like to think that perhaps I can offer some kind of guidance. My kinfolk may be pigheaded at times, but I have two ears that work fantastically and I eavesdrop often enough to have an inkling on how to give advice."
She flashed a half smile, her ear flicking as she came to a halt - they had arrived in an absolute clearing, the ground covered in short, vibrant grass. It overlooked a portion of Diveen's ravine, and she shuffled aside in order to give Rogue an adequate view if she so desired. With a swish of her tail, she fell to her haunches beside her companion, motioning for Magnus to be seated beside her.
"What you tell me shall be kept strictly between you and I, I can promise you that. The Angels have their secrets and I shall have mine, too."
She snorted quietly, her agitation at the thought of Angel secrets all too apparent but she would continue without a second thought on the matter. Magnus would be far more interesting than dwelling on the annoying nature of Heyel's secrecy.
"I am... I am most curious, you see, as to how your behavior begins. Have you encountered the beast, Tobias, yet? He is a demon or so they say and yet, he is not articulate - he feasts upon puppies, mothers and the elderly without question. To compare him to one such as yourself makes me think... Is he truly a demon? Are you? Were you born to kill or did your environment teach you?"
Covet had claimed it was biological but what of Rogue? What of Tobias? Were any of them redeemable and did they truly deserve to die if they could be re-taught or, well, if they could not stop themselves?
"And... call me Malina."
There was a smile somewhere in the midst of it all.
Lightning Queen
The Queen of Diveen. She may accept all challenges and block any steal. She is the sworn protector of the pack and all who reside here.
Thunder King
The Lightning Queen's mate and second-in-comman. He may accept any challenge and block all steals. He may accept new members. This position cannot be challenged for but is currently empty.
Whirlwind
This rank belongs to the closest advisor to the Lightning Queen. This wolf can block steals and accept new members. When there is no Thunder King, this rank may accept challenges. This rank cannot be challenged for.
Stormfront
These wolves are the protectors of the borders and are personal guards to the Lightning Queen. They may help to gauge new wolves and are essentially the domestic protector. In certain times they may be called upon to resolve domestic disputes, but generally they are tasked with watching the borders or staying close to the Lightning Queen. At times, information may need to be brought to the Stormfront who will personally deliver messages to the Lightning Queen.
Quake
The Quake is the lead warrior and in charge of the Tremors, who make up the brute force of the pack. This wolf is a protector of the borders and may accept new wolves. They may be called upon to help gauge a new member. They train the Tremors. Haze
The Haze is the head thief and secret keeper of the pack, charged with acting in the pack’s best interest and operating with a low profile. They train the Mists. They also act as a scout, relaying and finding out information. They work closely with the Tsunami. This wolf may block steals. Monsoon
The Monsoon is the lead healer and caregiver of the pack. They are tasked with healing wounds, assisting with births, and making sure that the pack remains happy and healthy both mentally and physically. They may also be called upon to boost morale through storytelling or other means. They train the Rains. Tsunami
The Tsunami is the lead diplomat and peacekeeper, tasked with protecting the pack from internal and external strife, as well as form treaties and ally with other packs in conjunction with the Lightning Queen and Whirlwind. They report directly to the Lightning Queen, and train the Tides. Blizzard
The Blizzard works closely with the Haze, but is more of an information gatherer. They may act as a thief at times, but are largely tasked with spying and scouting, reporting their findings to their superiors. Hurricane
The Hurricane is the head hunter of the pack. They train the Wind and organize pack hunts.
Rainbow
This wolf is the joker of the pack. Their job is to bring a smile to everyone's face and try to keep a light mood. They will be tasked with caring for pups and keeping an eye on them. They are the keeper of all types of fun and games for the pack. Gale
The Gale is concerned mostly with keeping track of the history of the pack, collecting stories and learning of events that might have happened long ago. They might tell history as stories to pups or create events in honor of those who have gone before.
Tremors
These wolves report to the Quake and make up the protectors and warriors of the pack.
Mists
The agents of the Haze, these wolves are tasked with maintaining order through more secretive means.
Tides
The Tides are diplomats and report to the Tsunami, they may be tasked with updating treaties or contacting allies.
Rains
These are the healers and caregivers of the pack, and they report to the Monsoon. They may be called upon as healers or babysitters. Winds
These are the hunters of the pack, responsible for feeding each member. They report to the Hurricane. Snows
These are the scouts of the pack, reporting to the Blizzard- they are involved with information gathering, both internal and external, and may be called upon as guerilla fighters of sorts should the time come.
Dusk
The general members of the pack, those who have not yet chosen a path or rank. However, they are still highly valued and may be called upon for other things.
Twilight
The apprentices of the pack, pups older than one who are in training.
Dawn
The innocence and the future of our pack.
Day
Esteemed guests of the pack.
Sun
Those allied with the pack, to be treated with respect and offered assistance.
Moon
Those who shine down upon us and guide us with their light.
Eclipsed
Those who have proven themselves enemies of the pack, they should not be trusted.
