At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

The challenge was over and both of them each bore wounds from the other, and the verdict had not come yet but he was sure that it would not be much longer. Amber orbs glanced to the fea known as Winter as he moved his pillars to a vertical position and his paws were in position to travel again. This, and the curt nod, was the only signal he gave to show that he was leaving Quarrels Clearing. News of the winner would come to him but for now he would go and start the whole healing process. That was the hardest part of fights, but he was used to it, after all nobody could be invincible. Not in a world that revolved around the circle of life.

Keegan moved toward Staircase Falls, where he could rinse the dried blood off his coat and clean his own injuries to avoid future infections. After all this was far from his first rodeo. His movements were slow due to his right hip wound, but his pace was decent and steady as he followed the familiar sound of rushing water. A yawn escaped him as he moved free of the denser section of the forest and saw the stream flowing off the side of the rocks. The ivory titan was at the top of the falls, where the stream first started.

As he neared the edge of the top most pool to quench his thirst, he found himself sliding across the stones and over the edge and right down into the pool. Apparently some of the water had lapped over the edge and soaked the solid ground. A sigh escaped him as he resurfaced and made to drag himself back onto dry ground, being careful not to scrape his right hip against anything. Well, at least this made cleaning his wounds easier, even if he was not happy about the unscheduled bathing session. He had to admit that as he stretched out on the ground the cool water felt nice under the direct assault of the sun.

Keegan was tempted to take a nap for a moment but he knew that he had to tend to his health first, so he stretched his neck to the side and started on his right hip injury, knowing that it would be easier to manage. When that task was over with, once the blood flow had stopped and he had cleaned the dirt away, did he turn attention to the minor back of the left shoulder injury. This one would be the hardest due to how hard it was to reach and he had to turn back around after about two licks. The process was repeated again before he decided to call it quits for awhile.

Twin ivory towers remained pricked as he laid his head upon his paws and allowed his eyes to become half closed. How much time passed he had no clue but he decided to waste some more of it and rest here to let some of his coat dry. From his vantage point he could see somewhat down the stairs and he found himself watching the other wolves below, mostly the ones who were obviously families. It made him think of Kyou, the fea he called his mate, who had disappeared a few seasons ago. For awhile he searched and thought she would come back but the lass never did return to him. The memories of the two of them here, and occasionally Lyra, had his emotions warring on the inside on which one would win. In fact he was lost completely in thoughts of the past and barely paid attention to his surroundings.
