Oh, she was always so late to everything! She had been late to all her nieces and nephews births, every pack meeting and she'd even been late to RAINBOW babies arriving. Now, she had been late to so much that she had found herself seemingly feeling more and more excluded from the world around her. She'd even missed taking the position of Moonglow's apprentice though she doubted that was because of any lateness on her behalf and not due to the simple fact that when it came to Heyel's children, she was the least impressive. Amaterasu had taken the position but had no sooner left Moladion and though it had ignited some tiny hope within the girl, she fast remembered that Zigzagel remained along with all the newborn pups. She lived in the shadow of the mountain and in the shadows of so many others' lives.

After her encounter with the unusual wolf, Eclipse, she had returned to Spirane even more heavyhearted than usual. There were wolves hunting her siblings and she could do little more than stand aside and shout at them - they did not even want her for she had been neglected by the Angels, her fur remaining utterly unmarked by crimson. At one point, within the privacy of her den, she had examined every possible inch of her body in search of the tiniest mark, hoping something had magically reappeared but come the last hair of her tail, so too did the realisation that she was born of Angels, but marked to never be one. Perhaps that night, two nights ago, had been when she had stopped sleeping so well, kept awake by her perpetual fretting - would the wolves known as Demons stop at her family? Or would they seek to destroy all in association with them? Was Swallowbane safe - what of his siblings, young and old? She hated the thought but she felt a new motivation stir come her third day of sleeplessness, her mind forcing her tired body from her den. If she were to expect to ever be able to protect those she cared for, then she was to become Calista the Warrior, the Strong and the Feared.

With a heavy sigh, she steadied herself onto her paws before she frowned in determination, her eyes narrowing as she eyed a boulder some yards away. With her ears pulled back, she charged forward in a sudden burst of speed, her muscles protesting as she threw herself up, her paws scrambling to catch the rock's edge as she pulled herself up. Even as light as she was, her body's lack of thick muscles caused her to ache briefly, her shoulder muscles unused to such a forceful movement - she was a dancer, not a boxer.

"I is not weak," she said to herself, her voice booming as if she convince the world around her, features curled up into a frown as she pivoted to face out over the pastures - she would practice and practice until her shoulders and legs could take her from the ground up in a flash. With that, she leapt from the boulder, landing with a loud thud as the air was pushed from her lungs but she kept at it, pushing herself forward once more as fast as she could even as her heart began to pound in her chest.

"I can be doing this," she breathed, panting lightly as she turned on a dime, stopping once more as she lined herself up to the rock again. She would go and go until she was stopped or until her legs could no longer leap and land. Never would she be too weak of body or voice again.
