1967 marlin vinyl roof IP: 184.197.178.29 Posted on May 9, 2013 at 09:56:32 PM by 67marlinguy
Hi. A long while back i ended up talking to a guy who claimed he owned a 1967 Marlin with a vinyl top. He was a little odd in that he seemed cagey about the details as i was asking him questions. Why, i don't know. I wanted to know details about the pattern of vinyl, and i also wanted to know if his top had vinyl top "staples" around the edge, and through the sheet metal ,as many cars of the day had. Usually underneath trim, where it wouldn't be visible. He said his had staples under the trim, and even into the trunk area, where they were visible. I asked him if he would mind sending me some pictures of this, which he said he would do. I never heard from him again. I have a feeling he may have been B.S.ing me about the whole vinyl top thing. So what i would like to know is.........are there any 1967 vinyl top cars in existence, and if so, who has it, and are pics possibly available showing trunk detail? Did they use vinyl top staples? Or was the top just glued? Replies:
