beyond unconquered depths

guarner
Indian Hemp has survived another winter. Despite his fluctuating moods, he has not picked a fight to finish him, and despite his lean flesh, he has not frozen to death. When the cold of winter intensified to its peak, Indian Hemp left the Frozen Falls to rejoin the undesirable hustle and bustle of the slightly-warmer Meadow. In doing so, he left Chianti behind and he has not seen the mare since. It sobers him to think of her but he never did put any faith in her sticking around. That seems to be the pattern with him. He is a loner, attracting the attentions of one horse or another and if he doesn't learn to get too attached, he can move on without having to nurse such large emotional wounds.

"Speech!"

The spotted stallion appreciates the warm spring air and is taking advantage of this sunny afternoon to warm his gaunt behind. He has shed his winter coat and replaced it already with a sleek summer one. Each season's shedding brings out more spots on his already dizzyingly patterned coat. Beneath his sleek, appaloosa coat, he is thin, wasted from a hard winter. Despite his colouring, which speaks of rugged ancestry, Indian Hemp is built like a hot-blooded thoroughbred, lean and long, with thin skin and fine hair. He would fair much better in a warmer climate, but he has yet to explore any island beyond the crossing.
