At Leisure Lake the sun is always shining and only a few stray clouds roam the open sky; paradise is the one word that really describes it. This beautiful lake is clean and refreshing, the very best place to swim and fish. Pups are known to play here while older wolves watch at the side, engaged in their own activities.

Lycaon was beginning to change, well at least for the sake of Apollonia. He was becoming softer and less irritable and not to mention a hell of a lot less grumpy. The little ess had brought the father out of Lycaon once more and he actually had the urge to help the girl. Though his old self would occasionally bite back and send the nicer Ly running for the hills. It was strange how only the pup had seen this side to him and would probably be the only one to ever see his nice side. He wasn’t all too keen on the idea of letting others know that he could be nice, and being a grump was so much easier.

After what seemed like a life time of waiting, the young lass reached the paws of the brute, her forest coloured orbs looking up at him rather than focusing on the water in front of her. ’One… one step at a time… I can do that mister…’ The giant lad nodded his head slowly as if to assure the ess that his words were true and that if she followed his advice she would get through it. He really wasn’t about to let anything happen to her, well that was if she managed not to piss him off. Once again he lowered his maw to the pup, allowing his eyes to search her own green orbs, a look of truth clear within them. ”One step.”

As soon as the lad took a step towards the water, both paws submerged, the ess retreated to the ground curling up and backing away. At his words she shook her delicate cranium before her eyes fell on his once again and the backing away stopped. Ly said nothing. She would have to fight this battle on her own, he was just back up in case she needed it. ’Promise?’ The words fluttered towards his auds, tiny paws stepping shakily towards the water, her gaze fixed on him. ”I promise.” She was nearly there all she had to do was believe.

Then finally after much deliberation and encouragement, Apollonia took her first steps into the water. A short, intense scream was let into the air and Ly flinched slightly- the noise hurting his ears. In fact he had to hold back a growl before the feeling off something touching his limbs calmed his rage. He gazed down to see the little russet ess quivering between his front paws and the brute couldn’t help but sigh; half out of relief and half of slight disappointment. Yes, she was in the water but cowering between her paws was not fighting her own battles. ’N…n…now what Mister?’ Lycaon looked down again, catching the girl in his gloomy sight. ”Now you be proud of yourself. You are stood in the water and have not yet moved out of it. If you carry on like this you will soon make an excellent wolf.” An air of pride trickled out of his mouth. For some strange reason he was very proud of the unrelated pup but she still had a long way to go. ”If you can, try and go further in. If not then stand here and tell me something happy, that way you will no longer associate the water with bad memories. They will be good memories instead.”
