aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

\\ adult / maiden / Aurora Borealis / heart aches for Cody \\

Timber clad paws thrummed upon the terra, gentle as a harpist's fingertips upon their stings. Tiny puffs of air slid between the valkyrie's lips, one of the only sounds in the silent black night. Orbs glinting on stolen moonlight, she ran, small and sleek. Exercise had become the fae's distraction. Bundle of smiles and giggles all day and an exercise machine most of the night. Sure, she should be sleeping and this behavior would surely worry Kong if he were to find out. But the thing was, sleep had come to scare the innocent little lass. Nightmares raked through her subconscious mind as she slept, taunting her and opening freshly closed wounds. And so she ran the packland's boarder.

On this particular night, she noted, the sky was wonderfully clear. The celestial bodies adorned the sky in a breathtaking way. She had always had a slight fascination with the night's sky and all the things seen there but mostly she didn't bother with it. What if Cody is looking up at that same sky? The thought hit her mid stride like a ton of bricks, sending her sprawling when her pads again graced the ground. The slight pain from impact with the packed earth was a welcome sting. She was out here running her heart out for the sole purpose of not having to think of him. Her heart felt like it had been ripped and torn all over again.

Shaking her pelt out vigorously, the female again set off, her pistons pumping at an even faster rate. Her face twisted in defiance, hard and stoic. Not long after this latter leg of her run, those hardened ambers fell upon a shape quite unexpected so late. As she drew closer, the girl found that she had happened upon a mottled female, gazing up at the stars as she waited at the boarder. Slowing to a lazy trot, the tiny timber wolfess approached her fellow ess. Fine night for star gazing. The sweet soprano lyrics flitted softly on the air, so as not to spook the younger girl. Oh, my name's Zig, by the way. The introduction was tacked on at the end, a mere afterthought. It was obvious from the look on her face that Zig was as distracted by her thoughts as the teen was by the stars. Giving her skull a quick, hard shake, she smiled towards the new lass. It's rather late to be out, no? I'm not sure where Kal is... He might be asleep. He hasn't handed out any ranks yet, so I'm afraid I can't welcome you or anything. But seeing as it is so late, I will offer you a den for the night if you so choose. Either that or you can wait here until morn. Zig knew full well that she had no power-- nor right-- to invite this stranger into her pack without Kalgalath's consent but she wasn't about to let on to the girl that that was so. Besides, Aurora was more of Zig's home than anyone's here except Kong. She deserved to have some say in the matter. So she offered, deciding to deal with Kal as needed later.

Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission.
