News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

She was a big wolf this one and actually, a bit grumpy as well. She reminded me of Heyel. He was grumpy a lot, not that I was ever around when he was, no, I’m not nearly that silly, I know when it’s ok to be here and when it’s not and I’ve known for a long, long time that Heyel isn’t safe. I don’t know why he scares me so much, but he does. Maybe scared is the wrong word, I just know for sure that he shouldn’t know about me and Elijah is good at staying quite. This one though, this big black wolf is not the same as Grandfather. I think maybe she does the same kind of stuff, but she is different too, that I know. I know a lot really- but I am pretty smart. She keeps staring at me, like, a lot. I guess I do look a bit funny with my white body and black head and red mane. For an Angel Mark I think it looks pretty silly, though Elijah thinks it’s like the greatest thing ever even though I’m very, very sure we are not an Angel. Angels are never black, or at least, they don’t have a white body and stupid black head with some crazy red fur sticking out. Something got messed up when Mama put us together. She looked back towards me, this black one, raising one eye. I attempted to mimic her, one side of my face lifting in imitation. I liked that. I wanted to be able to do that, it looked- calculating. Of course, my effort was less impressive, my eye kinds twitching like I had a problem, but hey, it was my first try. I shook it off as I moved about her, listening to her words all the same, much more impressed when she decided to use regular words. I hated those Angel sounds, they burned me from the inside out and made me mad. I paused in my examination of her form at her words, frowning as I looked back towards her glowing golden eyes. Maybe I should have been afraid of her, but I wasn’t, I’m not afraid of anything- except maybe Heyel and maybe that other little black one, just a bit, she’s bad that one. Malina. I know her name. I met her once. Or Elijah did. I hid.

"What’s more than an Angel? What do you mean not completely?"

I asked, not entirely impolitely, though it was a bit direct for someone of such small stature who probably had no right t demand such things and yet I did anyway. Because I can. I knew I was right all along. I knew we weren’t an Angel. I offered the Big One another grin, cheeky and devilish that glowed in the gloom as she crossed her paws, my own emerald eyes still roving over her pelt. I could smell….something, I just didn’t know what it was or where to get it. I frowned, frustrated before shaking that thought away, continuing to explore her frame with child-like curiosity as she spoke, my attention span not nearly long enough at such an age to sit and listen politely in one spot. Well- I could have done, more so I chose not to. I’m not Elijah after all, I don’t grin and prance and hand out flowers while being the perfect child as he so strives to be. Sickening really. I paused again, ears flicking at her words. My cousin? I had a lot of those, Mama told us about them. I didn’t remember the name Ava, but that’s not surprising, Elijah had probably been listening instead of me.

"I’ve got a lot of cousins. Heyel told us all their names once. I’ve got a lot of aunts and uncles as well. They don’t visit though. None of them do. Uncle Azrael came once, he scowled at Elijah and Alyx and left and that upset Mama. Heyel comes all the time, but no one else. Why?"

She seemed to know a lot. Well, so do I, more then Elijah and I am very clever at hearing things I shouldn’t and knowing more then I should. I don’t know why no one comes, I don’t know why we can’t go to the main pack- I know it has to do with Angels though and with Shadow, I’m sure of it. I just don’t know why no one will tell me. Cousin Ava might though. Yes, this Cousin Ava seems very knowledgeable and sneaky. I like Cousin Ava. She lent in a little, her giant muzzle big enough to pick my tiny body right up if she wanted to. I brushed passed her and against her shoulder, freezing suddenly as she growled, an instinctive reaction to the sound. Didn’t she like touching? Mama never minded and besides, I wanted to find the warm. Her lip pulled back to bare one white fang, my own lips mimicking her in what came out as a bizarre looking toothy-smirk before I snickered and climbed on top of her, the first boy to be on top of Cousin Ava, though it would be some time before I understood the humour in that. I made my way along her back, finding a place that was warm and soft, parting her ruff with my paws before striking downward- only to be launched into the air.

I yelped in surprise, paws scrambling to hold onto her bucking form as my fangs grazed her skin- so close. I growled in displeasure, russet heckles lifting once more as I lost my footing, tumbling from her back and onto the dirt, attempting to roll back onto my paws before I was pounced on, her giant paw crushing down on my snowy body as I whined, head twisting to try and sink teeth right into her stupid big paw! I’d bite her and I’d bite her damn good…..bitch. This body is stupid and weak and useless, paws scraping against her own in an effort to move her as I growled my outrage at this injustice. I, Ego, was never knocked down. I hadn’t done anything to her, I hadn’t even hurt her, I was just….playing and she ruined it. My jaws parted to protest when it became clear I couldn’t through her off with my massive strength, but she beat me to it, snarling down at me as I glared towards her in irritation…..before I actually started to listen. Lied to? Who had been lying to me? What truth? She did know about Shadow! And she would tell me. Emerald eyes narrowed slightly. I didn’t want to tell her why I was here, that wasn’t a good idea, she didn’t want that answer, or at least, I didn’t think she would. Maybe I should pretend to be dead, that’d show her. She wouldn’t really pull my head off, she wouldn’t dare, I already know that- but that didn’t mean I didn’t want to hear what she had to say. I wanted to know about my…existence.

She released her paw as I took as gasping breath, a little bit dramatic, I was fine, but I wanted to make her feel a bit bad that she might had crushed me as I rolled back onto my paws, glaring at her, still unforgiving for having been toppled in the first place as I sat determinedly with my back to her, folding my tail around my paws in a huff as I nursed my injured pride. Well- it was only a superficial wound, not enough to actually leave just yet.

"If I tell you what I was looking for, you’ll tell me about all the other things? About the Shadow guy and all the truths you know?"

I still had my back to her, looking over my shoulder to talk, eyeing her warily. I am not Elijah. I don’t just trust and assume everyone wants the best for me, I’m too smart for that. There is enough Heyel in me to be cunning, even so young. I waited for her conformation before I turned around to face her, one paw tracing through the dirt, eyes flicking down to watch it as I did, unaware that this motion, tracing my paw as I did, was a perfect imitation of my sires habit, his obsession with patterns an evident mannerism past on in an eerily exceptional replica of Tobias in that moment, the sire I was never to know of if Heyel had his way. I continued to stare at my paws, claws tracing circles as I mumbled my answer, not my fault if she can’t hear it, she’ll just have to listen well, cause I won’t repeat it.

"I like warm things. I smelt you…beneath your fur, I can smell you’re….warm. I don’t know how to get it though, so I bit you. I like biting. I need to bite harder though."

Emerald eyes flashed a moment, just a moment, reflecting something far more Tobias-like then any mannerism before my head tilted, expression softer and child-like once more. I didn’t really know what I wanted. I only knew she was warm under her fur and I wanted that.
