aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

"Of course I am an…" Tyson frowned at her word, not recognising it, and his jaw flapped helplessly for a few seconds before his mind helpfully stepped in and substituted the sentence with a word he did know, "…a good hunter!" His chest puffed out once more at his proud declaration, young ears not recognising the teasing tone an adult used around pups. To his ears her comment had been in admiration, rather than simply going along with what he was telling her. It was then that the dark femme questioned who the wolves his mind had dubbed ‘boss lady’ and ‘grumpy brother’ were. The pup frowned with uncertainty as he was sure his perfectly accurate nicknames for the pair would tell the femme all she needed to know about who they were. Sitting down as though settling in to tell a long tale, he began to speak in the obnoxious ‘I know more than you do’ tone that only a young pup was really capable of getting away with.

"Boss lady and grumpy brother live really, really far away in An…erm…Andere Sei…Andere Seite…I think…." He scowled, tilting his head as he tried to recall whether that was the name of the pack, "Mother sent me there anyway, and the boss lady was sat on a really tall rock, but I managed to jump on it anyway and almost bit the grumpy one’s ear but he ducked and then the scary adults showed up but boss lady didn’t let them eat me. I would have fought them off anyway!" His blabbering boast made even less sense than before, his rough account of events skewed in the wrong order that would have been confusing even if it hadn’t come from a youngster’s mind. He looked at Leila before carrying on, "The grumpy one was really huge, way way bigger than you and you’re really tall, so he must have been a giant. He nodded his head, sure that his recollection was correct. In reality the brute had probably been only slightly larger than your average male wolf, but to a pup that was barely halfway up the average wolf’s leg all that extra height was definitely noticeable.

The conversation managed to move onto his becoming lost and Leila questioned whether Kalgalath had properly shown him around. Tyson found himself nodding, then a half snarl issued from his mouth as he bared tiny teeth, "He did, but I don’t need help getting around. It’s not my fault this place is so big." Talking lulled again as the femme dipped her head for a drink, the pup lowering his lip again so that his expression once more resembled a disinterested scowl. She looked his way again and her offer to teach him some points about hunting caught him by surprise. His mother was a fairly efficient hunter, but whenever he’d asked for her to teach him the usually gentle, caring femme had been very clear, in a firm voice, that they’d no time for that while he was so small. She had her work cut out keeping them both fed and out of the way of other wolves, she’d once told him, that there was no time or energy available to waste until he was big enough to catch something of value.

The pup’s experience was rather poor, what with a lack of practical knowledge and only himself or inanimate bushes to fight against in practise. He’d never admit it of course, but the thought of actually learning to hunt sent a thrill through him. For a fraction of a second his eyes brightened beyond the sharp, icy blue scowl before he broke eye contact for the first time. "I can help you hunt," he said, slowly lifting his gaze back to Leila’s. It wasn’t an acceptance of help, but he hoped it was enough of a positive response that she’d go over basics anyway. After all, she’d said they wouldn’t start with large or mature animals. He stubbornly ignored her as she told him he hadn’t been very quiet in stalking her and that she could help him out with that. He was a little put out, but realising that he might not get the opportunity again he dipped his head in a small, stiff nod.

OOC: Sorry it took so long *hides*
