FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
The City of Tampa Fire & Police Pension Board , after Mr. Joe Griffin of Buck & Associates Actuary firm reported to the Board , just a few minutes ago, voted to send all eligible Retirees a 13th Check in the amount of $8686.14 and all eligible surviving spouses $4343.07, earned for the fiscal year of 2012! This will be paid on 6/28/2013.
This could have been paid at least 3 months sooner but the Board refuses to require the Actuary firm to speed up the reporting process.
They also do not give any reason for not speeding up this process. For a lack of an explanation one has to believe It must be Jealousy, Plain Meanness, Power Hungry or they just do what the Plan administrator wants them to do , which in the past was to dry up the funds ( Maxey Law Suit Executive session ) without any questions.
Also Mr. Griffin reported on the increase of contributions that the Actives and the City will have to pay .
